Flying Biscuit is a good place to eat. This was my first time eating at this location, and the menu is different (and didn’t seem to have as many GF options as I am used to having). However, I enjoyed my eggs, sausage, and grits. Their grits are always so good - don’t miss them.

Friendly customer service. On their menu they had plenty of glutenfree options. I ended up getting the garden fresh veggies scramble and all the vegetables were fresh and tasted wonderful.

Family style place, seems to have a patio but it’s winter rn. Not very crowded, they have a menu GF code for items they call “gluten friendly” which means no bread but celiacs should probably beware. Nice staff, cute place.

i worked here as a server for 5 months, they train their servers well in what is gluten free and what is not…. but they have 2 large grills in the back that they cook everything on, pancakes, bread, eggs, meat, etc. so you have to stress the gluten allergy and see if they have a separate pan to cook your food on to prevent cross contamination. i highly recommend the açaí bowl, but double check that the brand of granola is gluten free. they do not have any gluten free bread, biscuits, pancakes so you have to stick to the basics.

They have good food I’m just not super confident that it is safe for people with celiacs. I’ve eaten there a couple times and I’ve never had extreme reactions but my stomach tends to feel a little off. Could be something else and not related but I would be cautious when eating here.

I have eaten here multiple times successfully. Although there are no pancakes/waffles, eggs, side dishes and meats can be made gluten free.
Yes
Nothing to see here. Also not a local chain.
No
No gluten-free pancakes/waffles. Gluten free options are bacon and eggs, grits, fruit etc., basically what you can find at any breakfast joint.
Good food with GF items flagged on the menu. Delicious grits but they do add cheese and I like mine plain. Excellent apple butter.
Yes
GF listed clearly on menu. Not sure about waitstaff awareness, though. Delicious food.
Good GF identification on menu, servers definitely did not seem knowledgeable about the topic. No breads. Food was decent, I didn't have the same experience with generous portions. Ultimately, I thought it was only so-so, but nice to have a place to go for breakfast.
Good list of gluten-free menu items, but even marked gluten-free on the menu the patron should be sure to still ask the waiter for the gluten-free version. Some waitstaff were not 100% educated about what gluten-free entailed so I deducted 1 star. The food here, particularly breakfast food, is DELICIOUS. Healthy portion sizes, reasonably priced, very diverse menu, and I felt great after eating there. I definitely recommend Flying Biscuit Cafe.
Yes
No GF pancakes, but what an awesome breakfast! Bean cakes are delicious!
Yes
Lovely waitresses and no problem getting a gluten-free meal at this southern/sandwiches/breakfast cafe. Amazingly good grits. The only reason I am deducting a star is that there were flies, and some of the dishes were too salty (though no more so than i have found in several other local restaurants). Despite the salt issue, I will definitely be returning because the overall experience was good.
I ordered the spinach avocado omelet with a side of bacon and grits with no biscuit and our server, Mariah R was amazing. She was aware of my allergy and made sure it was noted and told the cook in the back and gloves were changed. I had no sort of reaction or sickness and usually immediately if I have any sort of contamination I get sick AND that did NOT happen. We will definitely go back. The menu showed the gluten free items and they were aware of the GF allergy and made sure we were taken care of! Mariah was amazing !!

I had a wonderful experience here. The waitress was very knowledgeable about Gluten free options. GF items were marked on the menu. They had a GF bread option as well to replace the biscuit for your order. I had the Piedmont Omelette with grits and GF Toast along with a Mimosa flight. The juices that they use for the flight are GF as well.

The most delicious grits! Server was knowledgeable and helpful. They were slammed and she still took the time to dip apple butter from a new jar for me. Each order comes with a complimentary biscuit and unfortunately I got toasted Udis sandwich bread. It was safe and toasted separately from everything else.
