This place was so cute! Ice cream flavors were not labeled GF but most of them seemed obvious. The toppings were labeled GF as well as GF and vegan . I got the hot fudge sundae with blueberry ice cream 👌 So good. It took a while, but that's because they have good allergy procedures to avoid cross contamination. So worth it though.

Always delicious, had ice cream many times there without getting sick- just let them know about your ‘allergy’!

I called ahead and they said they had allergy procedures that included hand washing, using a clean scoop and scooping from a new tub of ice cream. Sounded good to me! Plus every flavor was gluten free except hydrox cookie! The only negative is they didn’t have gluten free cones. We skipped the chocolate sauce that my son wanted because they said it was homemade and although it didn’t list gluten as an allergen, I was not 100% sure.

Great service + many options. They sanitize the scoop and take from a new tub for people with allergies. Prices are a little high but damn it’s good ice cream. Would recommend!

Very careful with cross contamination! Just inform the staff member at the counter.

Old fashion shop, with the soda shop atmosphere! GF friendly and they are careful with cross contamination. Make sure you tell them so the are aware and they wash the area and change gloves. Many ice cream choices, sweet options, Sundaes, shakes, malts and more!

The staff was very friendly when answering our gluten-free questions, and they even took extra precautions to prevent cross contamination. They only take cash, though, so come prepared.

Delicious ice cream and shakes. Celiac friendly. Knowledgeable about cross contamination and careful. Used new scoopers and new container of ice cream. Highly recommend on all accounts.
Yes
Great tasting ice cream flavors. Almost all are GF. They wash hands, santitze scoop, and grab from a new tub in the back for celiacs. We did cotton candy, mint chocolate chip, and cherry maple almond. All super yummy and the 3 celiacs in our group did great!
Yes
They are so busy the don’t let you try much! Staff somewhat knowledgeable.
No one was wearing gloves. While there were a lot of workers, they were all bare hand. It was jammed with customers, so I opted out. It seems with all good intentions based on the state there was no way to avoid CC. My company waited on line for 30 minutes and said it was good, but not worth the wait. It was more of the experience it seems than the quality of the product. If you come at a less busy time, it might be worth the risk. On a positive note, they do have vegan options. Proceed with Caution.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. It is happiness. Period.

An amazing place to get some delicious ice cream desserts! This place is highly conscious about gluten and other allergens; simply let the staff know whether you're a coeliac or you suffer from allergies and they'll sanitise the equipment! Gorgeous ice cream - my favourite is their hot chocolate float!

I'm from Nashville, Tn, but I had read about this in a magazine. I never thought I'd actually eat here because I'm also sensitive to dairy. I thought I'd have to settle for a soda, but they have vegan ice cream and procedures to accommodate celiacs. They used a clean scoop and served me from a fresh tub in the back. It was delicious, and I didn't have to worry about gluten!
Yes
Delicious peach ice cream! They scooped mine out of a new tub of ice cream too when I said I'm gf.
Yes
GF or no GF it's the best ice cream in town. Only wish they had GF cones for my hubby to enjoy!
For an old-fashioned, traditional joint, this place was AMAZINGLY accommodating to food allergies/intolerances. I got to choose from tons of gf ice cream flavors, and my dairy-free mom was ecstatic to enjoy a dairy-free sundae!
Excellent. Informed the order taker that my wife was GF and he said it would take just a little longer as they would be using freshly cleaned serving utensils and opening new ice cream containers to ensure no cross-contamination.
Yes
Almost all flavors are gluten free, EXCEPT the hydrox (Cookies and Cream). Nothing is posted about items being gluten free and I had to wait on a long line to order and ask. Great ice cream, but would have been better if they had separate prep for gluten free orders. Not safe for those with super-sensitivity since the ice creams are all kept in the same case and could easily be contaminated with contact from ice cream cones.

When you're done with your history lesson, head down to the Franklin Fountain for ice cream in an authentic parlor. Travel back in time in a meticulously recreated soda fountain complete with egg creams, banana splits, and homemade ice cream. I'm particularly fond of the ginger ice cream but Philadelphia Vanilla is sure to please. The Franklin Fountain also offers soy ice creams.
Great ice cream. Informed "server" I was gf. He changed gloves, scoops, and opened a new thing of ice cream for me. Had delicious sundae. Fun experience.

Gluten and dairy free options clearly indicated on menu. Due to the nature of the product (all natural ingredients and vintage recipes/formulations) the great majority of the products are GF, and there are quite a lot of dairy-free options as well, surprisingly.
The quality of the ice cream and sodas and toppings, etc. is peerless. You can't find treats like this anywhere else. It's pretty amazing.

Went way out of there way to make sure my son and wife didnt get any gluten. Cleaned the scoopers AND got into a new container. Highly recommended. Plus, lots of charm.

Amazing ice cream and the staff was well informed that all flavors except cookies and cream are GF (at least that day). A fun must visit stop in Philly.
