The Golden Fry

Fantastic fish and chip shop with a small seating area outside. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free, including all fish and chips. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. The best fish and chips we've ever had, Highly recommended!

Note that it goes by the name Finney's Fish and Chips now, which initially confused me when searching online.

Amazing chippy, almost everything is GF and all the staff are completely clued up (menu on their website is also labelled very clearly). Very tasty food, good portions and a reasonable price too. Must visit for anyone GF!!!

95% of the menu is gluten free as standard with only the scampi and maybe or or two other things having the option of gf or not. Had zero bad effects after eating. Good quality and thoroughly recommended.

Great system to order online where it labelled what is gluten free but also an option to state gluten free and noted celiac in notes. Server asked again if it was gluten free whilst picking up and kept the gluten order away from everything else in the bag. Fish, chips, curry sauce and battered haulluomi were all lovely, all labelled with a gluten free sticker! Travelled 30mins for it and was worth it!

Excellent fish and chip shop. All gluten free. Can order online. Is a display outside to let you know about waiting times. We sat in covered seating area outside shop where there a rea couple of table and chairs. Best tasting chips, gravy, battered scallop and barm. All gluten free.

Nicest southern fried chicken I think I’ve ever had (gluten or non gluten!). The one gluten item we ordered (sausage) was kept very separate from rest of meals. Extremely tasty and generous portions.

We pre-ordered on line for a specific collection time- all went very smoothly. Delicious food:batter was light; fish pure white; peas, curry and tartare sauce tasty and enough chips to share a portion between two.

Dedicated menu, separate fryer. Celiac and lactose intolerant. Absolutely no reaction (writing next day).I checked 3 times was getting the right food - there was a potential mix up but sorted. Fantastic food.

Avoid! Only do “gluten free” on the menu to draw in customers, staff and management are disgusting in their treatment of allergy sufferers. Particularly avoid if vegan as my chips were served with a fish on top and the manager refused to refund the order.
