Review of The Goldenrod

I decided to try again today based on some previous reviews after having gone a few years ago. This place is a York classic. When I arrived I asked the guy who seated us and he told me there are GF buns and any sandwich can be made GF. I decided to get a burger and I asked the waitress how they cooked the burger. I explained that I had Celiac and that I was wondering if they toasted buns or any other gluten foods on the same surface. She went back and asked and came back saying that they try to cook it separately and they clean the grill, but there’s no guarantee that there wouldn’t be cross contamination. Since I am very sensitive, I decided not to risk it. She was very sweet though, and offered to give me some potato chips in a bowl. When she delivered them she said she had the cook change gloves and that he opened up a new bag for me.

So- I am giving 2 stars since the waitress did her due diligence and because they were honest. If you are gluten intolerant- you are probably OK here. If you have Celiac, def not.
