If you are celiac… just don’t. I went in to see what gf options I might have. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and ASSURED me that the ONLY thing on their menu with gluten in it was the pita. I was surprised but his assurance was convincing. Long story short… he had no idea what he was talking about. He suggested I do the gyro plate with rice. I placed my order and happily brought it back to the hotel. When I opened it, immediately knew this was a problem. The rice wasn’t just rice, it was rice pilaf. Big no no. So now I didn’t trust his advice and I searched for their allergen menu. Sure enough, the gyro meat has breadcrumbs in it even though I specifically mentioned that to him. So I paid $30 for a small side salad and some rice pudding that I can eat, along with an entire plate of food, that I can’t eat, that I’m going to try to bring back home for my husband to eat. Very disappointed. After reviewing the allergen menu it seems I could have tried the chicken or steak souvlaki on a salad but that’s about it. I should have known though, their menu literally had one thing (rice pudding) with the gf symbol on it.
