Update - new employee(s)?, pretty godawful experience; no mincing words here.
Told over and over “no guarantees about cross contamination and when I asked about the gentleman behind the counter about changing his gloves, something got weird in him.
No empathy. Eye rolling. After about 2-3 back and forth comments where the gentleman quickly got meaner and meaner and basically was saying he wanted me to leave / kicking me out, I asked to please return my items that I had practically fought to purchase. I am visibly upset/almost crying at this point (to which he says “you’re not gonna be upset here”), To my request for a return he says, no, you know what, no. I won’t be doing a return for you. We won’t be doing that.
I start to walk out, think better of it, return to the counter, where he proceeds to say something else snide and unfortunate I barely hear, and I just leave my purchase on the counter and walk out, now just kinda ugly crying because his whole behavior was so left field.
This is such a total bummer. Consider going anywhere else when you’re visiting Delaware.

God I love this place.
It’s a grocer type experience, not a restaurant. Go there for snacks, dinner accoutrement, gf cocktail mixers, or for food and supplies for an al fresco park picnic.
AMAZING bespoke (dry) gluten free pasta, tons of other things that are naturally gluten free like olives, spreads, just tons of delicious stuff, gf crackers usually (unless sold out), chocolates, and an amazing amazing European cheese selection, and decent meat options too.
