Hands down, best gf chicken tenders ever! Crunchy outside, chicken is juicy, we’d come back just for those. Everyone in our party of 4 loved their entrees and especially the gf clam chowder. Highly recommend.

Warning: they did give me a package of wheat crackers with my clam chowder but I just threw it out. That made me a little nervous but they confirmed that the fryer was dedicated gluten free. They seemed to understood CC and I didn’t get sick.

Our sever Lauren was great and knowledgeable about Celiac considerations - she noted that the entire staff are trained on safe handling/prep of GF foods. They have dedicated fryer and can offer most menu items GF. We ordered GF buffalo wings for an app, and my daughter (celiac) had the burger and fries. Really nice menu for the entire family.

No dedicated menu but GF items marked. Almost all sandwiches and burgers can be prepared on gluten free bun. Dedicated gluten free fryer so chicken, fries, etc are safe. 1 GF beer option. Multiple hard ciders. Waiter knew right away what was available GF or not.

Ordered chicken tenders, fries, and some fried calamari. Everything was so yummy & the menu offers gluten free options for food not typically available in other restaurants. Portions are big & filling just from the appetizer menu and the staff was great.

Awesome food! They make calamari rings and chicken nuggets. Fries and onion rings on dedicated fryer. Their clam chowder is great!!!

Basic taverny food. Waitress was nice and helpful- ordered haddock sandwich for her to come back and inform it was beer battered. got clam chowder, grilled chicken sandwich with fries with no reaction.

The absolute best dining experience I’ve had on our trip through MA, NH, & ME! The staff was knowledgeable, incredibly attentive, & ready with a smile. The food DELICIOUS! Don’t miss it!!!

Food was great, had Cobb salad (very spicy, but yummy). We had takeout, but the atmosphere looked ok. Didn’t get sick!

My celiac son got sick today. He ordered the steak and mashed potatoes. My dairy-free husband also got sick from a salmon salad. We tried sending his back because the salmon seemed buttery but they told us it was fine. After calling later to be understand the place they think he got the wrong salad. They were busy and can not accommodate allergies. I am very disappointed. We would have happily went somewhere else but the reviews seemed good.

I have eaten at the grog several times and not gotten sick but did get sick the last time I ate there.

Big GF menu. Clam Chowder was good. Had the flounder over rice with veggies. All washed down with a great draft cider. Server was knowledgeable as well.

So glad we stumbled upon this place! I only had white chowder, salad and oysters... but the gluten free menu was extensive and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. Man did it feel amazing to have white chowder... the clams were whole clams, very large and the chowder was full over it!!!!

I have both a gluten and lactose allergy and the bartender was kind enough to have the chef indicate on the already dedicated gluten-free menu, which items were also lactose free. They also have glutenBerg, which in my opinion, is the best IPA style beer.

Had the best burger I've had since going gluten free 13+ years ago! Didn't make me sick either! Yay!

They have a completely separate gluten-free menu which makes things easy. I got the walnut and pear salad which was delicious and my husband really enjoyed the gluten-free ribs. We also had the french fries and onion rings which were fantastic. I only wish we didn't get so full so we could try out their gluten-free desserts! Next time!!

Really great spot right in the middle of everything in downtown Newburyport. Had a completely separate and expansive gluten free menu, including dessert! and incredibly knowledgable staff (plus super child friendly!). Went a bunch of times during our week long vacation on plum island...this was our go to spot.
