DANGEROUS IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES / COELIAC DISEASE
I am a coeliac and I have had an appalling experience at Lagoon. After explaining in detail to the waiter that I cannot eat anything that contains gluten (wheat, rye, barley - including anything batter fried), we instead ordered garlic chilli prawns, Singapore-style chilli prawns and Thai fish curry at his recommendation.
When the prawns arrived, they had clearly been fried in batter, despite our instructions not to do so, so I was not able to eat them.
Without me realising, the fish in the Thai curry had also been batter fried. No one bothered to explain this to me when the food was served, and so I ate the fish. Only halfway through the meal did the waiter inform me that the fish was batter fried. This is absolutely unacceptable and has put my health at risk.
Clearly there is a lack of understanding and concern about food allergies at this restaurant. I do not recommend it if you are sensitive to any ingredients or have any allergies.
