Don’t eat here if you have celiac disease. They don’t take it seriously. We let the waiter know my daughter has celiac disease & we needed to be certain her pasta was gluten free. He assured us. When the food arrived, my daughter verified that the pasta was gluten free & the waiter said yes. About 75% through her meal, another person came over & said they have given her the wrong pasta. The pasta she had eaten did have gluten. He said sorry & walked away. No one came over to see how my daughter was doing. The waiter finally came over only to drop off the bill. We won’t be going back.

I thought they had plenty of GF options, and they have a separate fryer for their fries! The wait staff is very knowledgeable about what they can and can’t do GF. The burger and fries is my go to!

Not celiac friendly. There are gluten-free options and gluten-free modifications available, but there would appear to be cross contamination based on my reaction.

I ordered the pan seared haddock which is listed on the menu as (gluten free modification possible). I very clearly ordered the gluten free option and noted that I have a gluten allergy. I had a severe gluten reaction just hours after eating the meal. Disappointing as I used to really like their food before being diagnosed with celiac. Avoid if possible!

I’ve eaten here a few times and had great experiences each time - knowledgeable servers, well labeled food, and a separate frier. Everything has been delicious and I’ve never been sick. I’ve also found ordering safely online for pickup was easy and the food was well labeled.

Would not recommend this restaurant. I ordered the GF grilled chicken parmigiana. The waitress told me there is a GF prep space. The fettuccine style pasta had completely fallen apart into tiny pieces. I was sick shortly after consuming the meal.

I definitely feel a lot safer eating at the Local in Wayland. They handle allergies way better there! I definitely recommend trying the Local in WAYLAND.
Ordered takeout- gluten free chicken rice bowl, explained celiac in great detail, they have extensive gluten free menu but rice bowl came with fried chicken- definitely was NOT gluten free. Gluten free pizza was very gritty, undercooked crust that needed to be cooked to crisp and remove rice flour residue

My daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. A friend recommended the Local because it has a dedicated Gluten Free menu. I was excited to see that there were tons of options for her and the waitress even said they had a separate fryer for gluten free items. She ordered the tacos from the GF menu which happen to also be on the regular menu and on both menus, the tacos were listed as made with corn tortillas. Our food came and our waitress served her dish and said "gluten-free tacos." My daughter took one bite and I suddenly noticed that the tortillas were flour not corn! This is a HUGE mistake for someone who has celiac. Its not even an issue of cross contamination. They just served her completely wrong. Luckily, I noticed after just one bite but anyone with celiac knows that even that one bite is a dire mistake for her. The manager confirmed that I was right. The tortillas were flour not corn. He brought her the correct dish but at that point, I was so turned off and didn't trust the kitchen. He comped the meal but it was little recourse for the giant error. I will never return to the Local and strongly advise anyone with Celiac or other food allergies to avoid it as well. This mistake shows that the kitchen is completely uneducated about the consequences of serving someone foods that they are not able to eat.

They have a GF menu but I've been here a handful of times and anytime I eat anything other than a salad, I get very very sick. Will never go again.

Food is great and safe. And they have a gf fryer!!

Loved this place before we had celiac. Had brunch and both my daughter and I got sick afterward from two different meals. Very sad.

excellent menu with many options
Large GF menu, including buckwheat soba, Mac & Cheese, Flatbreads on Udi pizza crust, large range of sandwiches and burgers on Udi buns, and fab GF truffle fries and wings! And then there's dessert - ice cream, flourless cake - a lovely dining experience where the staff fully understood celiac/GF - definitely my new go to for a night out w/out worries!!
