Service os excellent. It is a small local restaurant. Dedicated gluten free fryers, menu is labelled with GF, and waiters knowledgeable about gluten free. They have gluten free buns for the sandwiches and burgers that are gluten free or can be made GF and they actually are pretty good. No reactions and as safe as can be wothout being dedicated gf. Notify server of celiac and they will accomodate
Got takeout from here on a work trip. The staff was friendly and able to answer my questions. I got the BYO Burger with a GF bun and fries. Fries were made in a separate fryer and the bun was soft and stayed intact. I have Celiac Disease and did not get sick either of the times I ate here.
That have gluten free buns and have the menu labeled with what can be made gluten free.
Always delicious- our go to place for gf burgers and fries.
We used to go frequently but the last 3 times we went they brought out my burger on a regular bun so they had to remake it. Seriously, 3 times in a row. We don’t go anymore which is a bummer, just not worth the risk. Also, if theres only 2 people in your party, they make you sit at the table right next to the bar or at the bar. Gotten pretty rude about it when we ask if we can sit at a different table.
Loved this place! Cozy, dark, and fun environment. The food was great with many GF options. The menu is well marked to inform you of what items are gluten free. The fries were crispy, hot, and not greasy. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Cedar Rapids.
This place is a must visit every time I’m in town. The burgers are amazing. I don’t know where they get the GF buns but they are some of the best I’ve ever had. And they have a dedicated fryer so French fries are always ordered.
Everything is clearly marked on the menu and the staff are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Soooooo good. The GF bun was fantastic, as was the veggie patty. I opted for a sale instead of fries, but did taste on if my husbands (they were very good) I had the Mediterranean burger (can’t remember the name) it was good, but I will try another the next time. The salad, while basic was really elevated by the amazing salad dressing - a watermelon vinaigrette! I will be back next time I am in town!
We stopped by on our drive from St. Louis to Minneapolis, and this was the perfect stop. Great GF bun and fries, and so many flavors of burgers and sandwiches to pick from. The staff was extremely nice and it was amazingly quick. Cute atmosphere. This will be our regular stop on our drive to/from Minneapolis.
I had an amazing experience at The Map Room. I had a seat at the bar and was helped by a very nice bartender who explained exactly what was gluten free when I asked her for help. They offer gluten free buns and have a dedicated fryer! I got a nice big order of fries to start off with and she gave me three different gluten dipping sauces, their goat cheese aoili was to die for so I had them put it on my burger. I ordered a double burger with swiss and white cheddar, mushrooms, bacon, pickles, lettuce and I had to have them put that goat cheese aoili on it. I loved that I could get it on a bun, and honestly the bun would be so much better if it were toasted but it wasn't dry, actually stayed together and I thought it tasted like most gluten free breads. I actually sat at the bar hoping to feel more comfortable and it really did work. I even got a lovely mocktail, a nongroni, it was spicy and easy to drink. I will definitely be coming back!
So this was actually really good. My friend and I were in town for an event and decided to stop here for a late lunch.
The wait staff were awesome and were very knowledgable for the most part on the ingredients in their food as well as very friendly. Both my roommate and I are highly Allergic to gluten and dairy.
It really is a little hole in the wall. Can only seat 40 people inside. But the place is so cool. You walk in and have to adjust to the low lighting. Maps surround and cover the space.
We both did build your own burgers with gluten free/dairy free buns. I love the fact that they had these and that bun is by far my favorite gluten free bun I have ever had.
However we both got exposed to dairy while there. My guess is they cooked our burgers in butter after expressly being told about our allergies and not doing it. Which saddens me because everything else was perfect.
The fries are delicious and fried only in the same fryer as their gluten free dairy free veggie burger. I think next time I might try the veggie burger instead.
Yes I still want to come back. But I would like it if the kitchen staff would be more careful of contamination when it is stated a customer has a food allergy.
Amazing homemade chicken noodle soup and dilll pickle potato salad. All their French fries are fried in a dedicated fryer. Great service.
One of my top favorite GF Friendly restaurants in town !! They understand about GF and CC. My husband and I have eaten there many times and I've never had a reaction. And they usually have a really good vegetable side too.
