First time eating here. They don’t take reservations and my timing (ergo wait time) is always off. Last night was no exception. Arrived around 615pm and was given the option of sitting outside in 28 degree weather or a two hour wait. We decided to sit outside. After being seated for about 10 mins, under a heat lamp and with blankets we were approached and told they found an inside table for us. Yay!!! The server was very knowledgeable and seemed confident about what was and was not GF. My kiddo wanted tacos. The server told us she could have the beef taco WITHOUT cheese. I asked if the chicken enchiladas were GF and she said yes. We wanted the queso fundido with chorizo and she told us we could not have the chorizo because they cooked it on the grill and it is cross contaminated. I appreciate that level of specific knowledge. Shortly afterwards she came back and let us know beef tacos were out. I asked if the poblano chili tacos were GF and she thought they were GF. in front of the server I asked my kid to get the poblano chili taco in exchange for one of my enchiladas. Our food arrived and it was delicious. I verified my enchiladas were GF and THEN she said “oh, I didn’t realize you wanted to share so they aren’t safe for celiac. They warmed the tortillas on the grill and they’re cross contaminated.” I was disappointed. The whole point of eating GF is to share with my kid. We had been waiting for a long time or I might have asked for them to be remade. I try not to make any waves when I need celiac safe food. It took forever to get my margarita and I ended up leaving half of it there. No GF desserts either. Only churros and they are not GF and they were already sold out at 8pm. They didn’t have bags to pack our leftovers either. I will come back again but during a less busy time and I realize I will have to order my food celiac safe. Be specific!
Absolutely loved it, the reviews were pretty accurate. When I mentioned I was celiac, she ran through the entire menu with me and recommended that I order anything but fajitas as it is contaminated by the grill. Our server was named Charlie and she was absolutely lovely. It’s the best dining I’ve experienced.
A good option for coeliacs. We ate here last weekend, the waitress was really clear on what was safe for coeliacs and cross contamination risk in the kitchen. She said the fajitas were okay because they were prepared separately in the kitchen, and you can have corn tortillas. She also said the appetisers were prepared on the cold side of the kitchen so would have been okay (but I didn’t try these). I have the chicken fajita which was tasty, and no adverse reactions. (A note for the non coeliacs you might be with, the only slight downside was my non coeliac husband had the enchilada and didn’t enjoy it at all so if we ever went again he’d get something else!)
Excellent dinner option for coeliacs. Guacamole, tortilla soup and fajitas were so good and staff super knowledgeable and careful. Almost the whole menu is gf apart from flour tortillas which are easily avoidable. Lots of corn tortillas available. We ate here 2 nights and no issues at all.
Very tasty food with well informed staff, couldn’t have the tacos as unfortunately the tortillas at risk of cross contamination on the grill but waitress recommended fajitas instead which was comforting she understood the importance Food was great, I had low expectations for a tourist location but was pleasantly surprised how tasty it was
No dedicated gf fryer but staff was really nice and knowledgeable
Wonderful safe place for my mainly celiac family to visit. They also had vegan options for one of my teens. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! The food was delicious.
Server was very knowledgeable and marked our ticket for the kitchen with CELIAC all over it. The manager brought out my food and specifically went over it with me, explaining how everything was gluten free. My food was really good, although my husbands meal was Way. Too. Spicy. And we like Mexican food. Overall good experience though!
