Review of The Morning Dove Gluten Free Bakery and Cafe

We stopped by here after a very disappointing late lunch, I needed something safe and satisfying before the drive home. I got a small (1.5" square) lemon bar for $4, and we each took home mini pies ($6/ea). The lemon bar was ok, there were solid chunks of what I think was lemon peel in it – but the flavor was overall good. The pies had great fillings, but the crust was awful – even for GF. It had no salt or sugar, it was like biting into chalky rubber. We'll still be back sometime to try the cookies and cupcakes... but if you're in Monterey and in a pinch for something GF and sweet... get a marshmallow dream bar at Starbucks instead.
