The Old Docks Bar & Grill

This is a great option for wheat free eating in Derry. They have a very diverse selection and a dedicated gluten free menu with very little options off limits.

HOWEVER, I will say that in my particular opinion the food here was just okay. It was fine, but if you’re on a once and a lifetime vacation and trying to eat really incredible food this place is not necessarily outstanding. In short it’s a great place to try if you live in Derry but maybe shouldn’t be your first pick if you’re just there for a day.

I ended up getting a Cajun chicken cutlet which I had thought was going to be a sandwich but wasn’t. I cannot have dairy either so they had to give me gravy as the sauce (which was gluten free😊) but wasn’t really the vibe. It didn’t matter though because the chicken didn’t actually taste like it had any Cajun seasoning anyway.

They also have gluten free fried onions and French fries. They aren’t like onion rings, but if you’re into onions I’m sure you’d like them.

I’ve been here a few times and always had a good experience. I love their gluten free menu which is separate and has quite a range of starters, mains and desserts

Very knowledgable staff, good variety on their separate GF menu. I took my newly diagnosed son here for his 19th birthday. Staff confirmed everything he ordered as GF when they passed it out. He had the chilli beef nachos, steak and mash with pepper sauce and chocolate fudge cake. This has been his best eating out experience since getting diagnosed. Highly recommended.

Had a complete separate menu for gluten free and really nice staff but they had gotten mixed up and had gave me a dish with gluten in it which then had to be changed.

This was the old Wolfshack. Now even better than before. No little symbols on a menu for GF options, but a totally separate menu with numerous options. Food is excellent and plentiful with very helpful staff.
