The most amazing, accommodating staff. Always GF pizza and pasta. No cross contamination. Felt great every time I’ve eaten here — couldn’t recommend Mama D’s enough for celiacs.
Excellent options for delicious gluten free penne pasta and sauces - we tried the Alfredo and the spicy Pink sauces. The restaurant host that seated us, immediately put in an order for the gluten free bread when we sat down, and our server was very helpful to explain all options available. This was one of the best gf pasta meals we have been able to find and enjoy in a long time. Although we only tried the pasta this visit, they also have gf pizza, and can modify many entrees to accommodate. We have gluten and egg allergies in our family and there were no issues for anyone.
The food was so good! They have penne pasta and are able to make any dish GF! They have GF “bread” which really is gf pizza crust but I appreciate them trying. My dad who does not have celiac and is extremely picky, loves the restaurant.

They have gluten free bread and pasta! The staff understand how to prepare gluten-free and celiac-safe food (separate/clean utensils, boiled water, etc.).
They don’t take reservations and it looks like they get quite busy. The service was great and I would recommend to others!
Mama D’s is a classic that can’t be beat. They are friendly and will basically make anything you want. They have gluten free penne, but I’ve also opted for pasta-free and add extra veggies to the dish. I usually order the sausage chicken capri. Take out is reliable but there’s nothing like a hot dish in restaurant! This is easily one of my favorite places in OC.

Food and service were amazing. Gluten free pasta and pizza options were delicious! Our server was very sensitive to and knowledgeable about gluten allergy vs preference vs sensitivity. Would recommend 100%!
What a fabulous Italian restaurant very safe for celiacs. The server will assist you in what options you have that include basically every sauce for pasta and delicious gluten free bread. The pizzas are light and tasty as well. The hospitality is amazing and service is top notch. Felt like I was eating in my grandmother’s home in Italy.
What a wonderful and unexpected experience. At first glance, you’d never think that someone with celiac could eat here safely. Our server confidently went over all of our options. He also let us know that his girlfriend has celiac as well so he gets it. That helped put my mind at ease. We had the chicken piccata, and 3 pasta dishes with Alfredo, pink and marinara sauce and the gf bread. Pasta always feels risky but, so far so good!
AMAZING. They had delicious gluten free penne and we were able to put whatever sauce we wanted on it. They had gf bread and made sure to not cross contaminate. Absolutely fabulous. They gave us cookies (not gf), and lollipops for those who were gf. The servers were the kindest people I have ever met. They checked on us constantly and treated us like family. Say hi to Sam for us! Definitely would recommend!!!
Staff very knowledgeable, waiter brought me gluten free bread and separate garlic and oil after I told him I had celiac. Gluten free penne with pink sauce delicious and I felt great after. Nicest waitstaff ever!
The staff is very knowledgeable. Took extra measures to prevent cross contamination. Friendly staff that cares to make your eating experience safe and pleasant.
All of their pasta sauces are GF, and they have a fabulous GF penne noodle. They are also able to make GF pizza, and will serve GF flatbread for the table if asked. I had the primavera with marinara sauce and loved it! The servers were knowledgeable and immediately notified the kitchen. Despite it being a busy night, they were very careful, and I did not get sick.
Fantastic!! We loved it so much after the first night that we went and visited their second location a few nights latter. Excellent food and the service was truly incredible. My wife is highly celiac and had no negative reaction to any of the food she eMate either time. We will be back next time we are in the area.
Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Assured me she would talk to the kitchen. Offered me gf bread with dinner. Had the penne with pink sauce. The best I’ve ever had by far! Delicious!!
This place was amazing. The staff was awesome—so friendly and knowledgeable. I had the gluten free penne with the pink sauce. So good. They even offered me gluten free bread for a $2 charge. Worth every penny! My daughter, who doesn’t need to eat gluten free, loved it all as much as her own food. Will definitely be back.
Gluten free penne pasta was amazing. Most sauces are GF also, so made it easy to order. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, asked if my pasta needed to be cooked in separate water. They do bring comp bread and cookies so if you’re celiac may want to head that off. I’m not, so wasn’t a concern for me personally. Great place.
The gluten free options are only - gluten free penne pasta. I got the mama d's pink sauce and it was really good. Lots of sauces to choose from. Service and staff were amazing!
