The food was great and celiac safe. My issue is I’ve been there twice first time 1:00 on a Saturday the second time I was there 12:00 the posted time they open. Both times I was told 1.5 to 2 hours for a table. They have picnic tables outside but both times they were all taken. So both times we ate in the car. You can only put your name on the waiting list in person so you have to drive all the way there to learn you will not be seated. Also no gf menu so you have to ask what is gluten free as you stand in the way next to the counter trying to order your take to the car meal. Very disappointing as the food was good. I’m unlikely to return
delicious and safe!! i got takeout because they were booked up for the night and it was a great experience. the container came labeled and they even put it in a separate bag from the rest of my family’s gluten-containing items. an employee told me all about how they make the pasta in a separate area with its own machine and take a lot of pride in ensuring it is a safe and quality product. i had the carbonara with gluten free bucatini and it was delicious! i can’t wait to come back and try more.
This place is awesome! Note they do not take reservations, but you can put your name on the list and they will text you when a table is ready. I waited 90 minutes on a Wednesday night and it is was worth every single minute! Downtown Denville is super cute so there is plenty of things to do while you wait and there is a bar a half block away. They allow 10 minutes for you to return once your table is ready, so it really was not an issue. I had the GF pasta, which is made on a separate machine and cooked in separate pots, etc. I had it with a Bolognese sauce that was delicious. My friend had the fish special which was also amazing. They also had a GF dessert option - a chocolate budino that was the perfect amount of sweetness. It is so hard to find really good GF pasta - and this is homemade - this place hit it out of the park. I will be back!
Incredible pasta for a great price
I ordered via their website, but called prior to placing. They cook the gluten free pasta in separate pots/water, and they make it in a seperate machine in a separate area.
I had the bolognese with gluten free pasta and will definitely be back! No sort of gluten-reaction 5 hours later, so seems very safe
If I could get this restaurant 25 stars I would. Fantastic service, amazing handmade gf pasta and good wine. I had the gf pasta with truffle sauce and sausage. Owner was extremely knowledgeable and explained gf pasta is prepared first thing in morning before any other pasta is made
Ok. The pasta was good. I’m celiac and it was my first time there. The regular menu is tiny. They don’t have a GF menu. They just have GF pasta. The only thing you could get with it is salmon. I wanted some protein other than salmon and we went down the menu item by item: “no, that has gluten. No, that has gluten. No, that has gluten. Basically you can have this or that.” For the money, it wasn’t a good value. I thought, if they have a dedicated GF kitchen space, surely they can put a piece of [chicken] on some noodles. I was wrong. I probably would have gone elsewhere if I knew this. I didn’t get sick so I believe it’s celiac friendly.
Knowledgeable staff. Incredible, fresh pasta made on premises in a dedicated machine. Heaven!
