Everything about this place is superb. While drink options are limited (it's a beer place, ya know?) they usually have Glutenberg canned and a few different ciders on tap. Their mixed drinks are excellent and a few of the bartenders have asked me without prompting if certain ingredients like whiskey or kahlua are okay for me.
Food is excellent, and they have a dedicated frier for their fries. Sadly, their best looking items like the mac and cheese and the fish and chips are very gluteny, but they have gf buns for burgers/sandwiches and plenty of gf sides.
All the servers are super friendly and great with dietary restrictions.
Definitely my favorite place in the area to grab a drink and some pub food.
I read reviews on here and decided to give it a try. Following other reviewers’ advice I asked for GF menu and there were many options ! Joseph Y , bartender, ( we sat on bar side of the restaurant) made the most creative and unique and carefully crafted gf cocktails and gave very detailed advice on all things on the menu. I am unconfirmed celiac and dairy intolerant . I had the appetizers : brussel sprouts , fries ( dedicated fryer ) with bacon horseradish aioli , and wings in a rub with delicious honey mustard dip. And 90 minutes later and I am not glutened ( I’d know by now !). It was fantastic to eat where the staff was so knowledgeable and careful and not just be reduced to potato or rice and bland meat and greens . HIGHLY recommend and many thumbs up for Joseph !
Nice find while in the area. Great experience. We were given a gluten free menu when we sat down and our server was great. We had questions about an appetizer and the manger came to speak with us and told us about the precautions taken to prevent cross contamination which was very reassuring. They also had several gluten free drink options. I had the burger and fries and was very happy with it.
I had such a great experience at the Publick House! Similar to one of the earlier reviews, I am always a bit hesitant to eat at a pub, but they made my eating experience super easy and stress free. Plus, they have a dedicated fryer which is always a bonus. The only downside is the menu isn’t labeled, but the waitress was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend stopping in for dinner!
I was nervous because you wouldn’t think they are careful by the looks of things, and I’m extremely sensitive. However, they have a dedicated fryer and said they could make several things GF. I got a burger between romaine and ate the fries, neither of which made me sick. Amazing!
Grat experience, the server was knowledgeable about celiac and gluten allergies. They have a gluten free bun and a dedicated GF for fries. Also a large bar menu with plenty of GF drink options. There is no separate GF menu and nothing was marked, but if you ask they seem to clearly know what they're doing.
I’m always nervous going to a pub type of place, but this place put me at ease. The waitress was knowledgeable and assured me their fries are fried in a dedicated frier without cross contamination. They have gluten free buns available (I think it’s Udi’s). Burger was pretty tasty! No reaction after eating here. The menu isn’t marked gluten free but ask the waiter and they should be able to help answer questions
