Alas no separate fryer so don't be fooled. Featured gf entree steak with fries, available only minus the fries! Several sandwiches with gf bun. Flatbread with a sweet potato based crust was ok.could have used a little seasoning. I had turkey melt which was a ground turkey patty. Could have had more cheese, tasty side sauce. One gf beer available. Nice outside venue riverside.

gluten free sweet potato pita appetizer w feta cheese was very good; salmon, sauteed vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes , red pepper puree were all delicious and gluten free. I had a gluten-free cider on tap. There may be some cross contamination w otherwise gluten-free fried options. ,I'd grade this place as a "C" for gluten free. Supposedly gluten-free ice cream which we did not try. Several beef options including steak and hamburgers or brisket without a bun, or gluten-free bun. Beautiful location overlooking the Cuyahoga River.

Had a great experience here! It has a great atmosphere and the menu is clearly marked with a number of options to choose from. They do have gf buns for sandwiches/burgers.

I loved my meal at The River Merchant! There were appetizer and meal options for me. The waitress immediately understood my question about a dedicated fryer. I really enjoyed the fancy fries (pommel frites appetizer). I had the shrimp scampi with polenta cooked crispy on the outside, Brussels sprouts on top, all in a creamy garlic sauce.
