I learned early on on the island you need to say you have a “severe gluten allergy” as all of the servers appear to be trained in what that phrase entails and are pleasant and accommodating. So thats the key phase on the island regardless of your GF circumstances at every place to eat and drink to get the true GF safety treatment. Been coming to this restaurant every year on vacation since they opened but first year back since my diagnosis. This restaurant has items marked “gluten conscious”. I found that that does not necessarily mean GF. I ordered salmon that was marked “gluten conscious”and then I reminded the waiter that I need GF due to severe gluten allergy. He came back a few minutes later and told me that that dish is not actually GF due to a sauce they have it cooked in. He then helped me select a true GF meal of salad with shrimp and fruits. Not a ton of options but it was good and the live music was fantastic. Always a fun place.
