The Shore Restaurant is in the Marriott Residence/Courtyard located on Jekyll Island. We dined at this establishment as we stayed at the hotel. They do not have a GF menu. I picked something simple off the menu, salmon, had it grilled with wilted spinach and blistered tomatoes. The meal was GF and simple, which I appreciated. I do believe that my meal was handled with care. That said, the taste was okay. Not bad, not great, but mediocre. The wilted spinach was not dried so much of my meal was sitting in watered down butter. Drinks were the same… not great.service was also mediocre. My husband ordered a steak which was of poor quality. Not worth the money at all. My daughter had a salad which she said was good. Her response was “how can they screw up a salad?” My son had pizza which all three in my party said was not good. The restaurant space itself is tastefully decorated. The outdoor area is nice and overlooks the pool. I would not go back unless I was really in a pinch. Went to the bar later for a drink and there was no service. I left after waiting for 15 minutes. This went on for a few occasions. Sadly I went to the liquor store and purchased my own beverages to enjoy. The canned drinks taste better than their mixed and I don’t need to wait for 30 minutes to be served. In sum, I don’t think that the food will kill you. If you find yourself in a pinch, stick with something simple. The view and atmosphere is fine. For four people, our total came to $120.00 which included 3 cocktails, one personal pizza, a salad, and fish. The only item that I felt that I was ripped off on was the steak… dreadful.
