Enjoyed delicious tea sandwiches made with gluten-free toast, and hibiscus flavored ice tea. Service is outstanding despite being very busy. A+.

Service is always great. Very Austin feel, you see a good mix of all types here, very laid back atmosphere. The food is amazing and the tea is even better. Can have a bit of a wait time, but I like them for their desserts and read more so it's not an end of the world sort of thing.

Visited during a business trip to Austin at the request of family who used to live in the area and was comforted by outstanding reviews. Unfortunately, I wasn't super impressed with service although they were busy but it seemed almost inconvenient asking what was recommended from the menu. No matter, I ordered one of their "service" options that samples a little bit of everything. GF scones were out and it sounded like management was hesitant to fill in a substitute that normally came with an upcharge but I was already forfeiting scone, spread and tea cake... Server appeared to work it out and a plate was served with my sandwiches, tort and cookies. I eyeballed the cookies as I definitely enjoyed the sandwiches and tort. When asked, my suspicions were confirmed: not one of those cookies were gf and now I began to worry about the berries I ate off them and the bread that was supposedly rice bread but was a bit too light and fluffy to be true. The server kindly brought me gf cookies to go and it looks like I was comped a bit on my check. I'm fortunate in that I merely feel ill when "gluten poisoned" versus more serious reactions I've heard tales of but it still prevents me from enjoying the cookies I took and the rest of my stay in Austin. I should note that the tea was indeed amazing.

Excellent not only do they have knowledgable servers who actually ask if you have an allergy and alert the kitchen when you ask for GF bread. They have treats galore and an 8 page tea list.

Delicious food and exquisite service. When I eat out, even gluten free I often do not feel well afterwards. I have not felt so well and been so happy with my food eating out in a very long time. I am very impressed!

The wait is too long for the quality of food. If you have children with you, the wait magically becomes even longer.

They are very careful and ask each time if you have a gluten allergy when you order GF items so that they are sure not to cross contaminate. Their GF DESSERTS are AMAZING, and my husband didn't even know he was eating a GF cupcake. Their sandwiches are top notch! This is my FAVE GF spot.

Nestled inside a lovely shopping center sits the Steeping Room. it is a small shop with a sit down dining room adjacent. I got lost trying to find the room (first time in Austin) so I arrived 10 mins before closing. All they had left of the GF goodies were scones and carrot cupcakes. Which was cool cause I love carrot cake. got the GF cupcake and loved every crumb. It was moist, dense and ultimately satisfying. The coffees and teas were awesome too. I got spiced chi latte and hubby got a light Bolivian roast both brews were beyond expectations. Planning on going back tomorrow to have thre full spectrum of their GF options. Love love love the Steeping Room!

This tea room is not dedicated but they will flag your order in the kitchen. They have a wide array of lunch items including pastries and teas. A definite gem tucked north of 183 & MoPac. Must try!!

Lots and lots of GF options both on regular menu and dessert menu. Staff was very knowledgable and accommodating to check items for other intolerances I had as well. Sandwich bread was great, held together well (I would guess its Rudi's sandwich bread). Oh, tea selection is great too :)
