Tried to eat here after seeing a good review on this app, but did not sit down because the staff members we spoke to seemed very ignorant about gluten. I asked a waiter at the front of house if there were any gluten-free options and he went to ask in the kitchen. When he came back it was clear that he had no idea what I was asking - he said they could make me vegetarian pasta. We asked him if the pasta contained gluten and he went back to the chef, when he returned all he said was that it was Italian. As I say, we did not eat here, and it’s possible other staff members are more informed, but we spoke to three different members of staff and they were all very clueless about what gluten even is, so I did not feel safe at all.
I am coeliac.. I read on this app that Sushi Azabu could do gluten free, however, their rice had been pre-made and contained soy sauce, so they couldn't. They recommended I try Tokyo restaurant. It was incredible. I had wagyu nigiri sushi with no soy sauce and chicken with mashed potato and veg, then chocolate and pistachio ice cream for dessert. They were so helpful and so knowledgeable. 10/10
