My daughter and son are celiac. They have a gluten free menu and they take extra care when you let them know that you are celiac. My kids have had no issues at all eating at the vic. Good food. Great service.

My experience was unfortunately very displeasing. I had high hopes as they had a whole separate menu for gluten free. My daughter ordered a children’s cheeseburger because she wasn’t very hungry. It came absolutely smothered in ketchup, so much so that it was leaking out the sides and making the bun completely soggy. It was completely covered in black peppercorns, which is very strange for a children’s burger. The cheese was just unpleasant, just your standard plastic cheese but the worst part was that the burger was not fully cooked, and was pink in the middle. The only thing that was really good was the corn ribs, but for the price it’s not the greatest. Overall, I’d say that the safety is very good, especially having a separate menu, but the food was very unpleasant and poorly made.

Was amazing! I went up to the bar and stated I was coeliac and asked what I could eat on the menu (as the main one didn’t have any gf indications). I was then handed a seperate Gluten free menu and told that the fryer was also gluten free!! And the food was divine.

They don’t have a dedicated gf cider, but a soda like alcoholic drink (nice taste). Had the nacho’s; tasted lovely & no issues.

My young daughters are Celiac so I'm are very careful about what they eat. The Vic is 1 of 2 places we feel relaxed and satisfied that we'll have a great experience in Nelson. Tell the waiters about cross contamination and they'll look after you and make you feel at ease.

Had GF fish and chips, chips were great plus the salad slaw. Fish was average and I was expecting it to be a bit better. Fish was a bit mushy and batter was double coated / fried and wasn't great.

Great for coeliacs and also DF. Harry (was duty manager both times we visited) is the guy to look after your order and ensure it is safe. Dedicated fryer and plenty of GF and DF options.

Lots of GF options and a separate fryer.

Big gf menu and dedicated fryer so safe for celiacs! My chicken parmigiana and chips was great!! My non-gluten free family also really enjoyed their meals! Highly recommend if you’re in Nelson!!
