The best service and best food I’ve ever had. From the start the waitress confirmed one at the table had a gluten allergy and was attentive to that all night. She brought out gluten free rolls in a basket with a different colored napkin from the regular bread. I had the filet and it was out of the world. Before I could even ask questions the waitress had the answers for me. Highly recommend!

Fine dining at it’s best! Our waiter went above and beyond to accommodate me. The food was superb and the atmosphere was perfect. Can’t wait to return.

Even though there was no separate GF menu, our server was very knowledgeable about what was already GF or could augmented to be so (GF rolls, GF buns for the burger, chickpea pasta to replace the regular pasta). Our server also knew that the flourless chocolate cake was GF, but that it was not made with certified GF oats. Everything I had was delicious - I got the seafood salad, faroe island salmon, and creme brûlée. They even brought macarons with the check.

This fine dining restaurant is located in the majestic Mirror Lake Inn. Our dinner exceeded our expectations in every way. Although there is no separate gluten-free menu, there were delicious homemade gluten-free rolls offered with dinner and several choices that could be made gluten free. I had the salmon made with gluten-free chickpea pasta and it was awesome! The cauliflower and black truffle soup was amazing. The pot roast is gluten-free and they were two free dessert options, chocolate flourless cake and crème brûlée.

I found The View through the Lake Placid Website - but couldn't find much information elsewhere - I emailed and was told my needs could be accommodated but they couldn't guarantee against cross contamination - I felt apprehensive but stopped by to speak with a worker IN person who went over EVERY single menu item with me and how I could make it gluten free and dairy free IF I wanted - HANDS DOWN, THE FANCIEST CELIAC - GLUTEN FREE DAIRY FREE MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD, AND SO DELICIOUS! I was served WARM gluten free rolls in endless amounts, the chef prepared a special "tasting" for me with out cheese, raspberry sorbet cleansed our palates, I had the Trout - which was sea salt cured and apple wood smoked, with petite greens and herbs, Dijon vinaigrette, pickled onions as a starter and an elegant Pheasant special for my entree in which they CHANGED the sauce, just so I could have it! AMAZING !
