I was really excited to eat here. It was more run down than I expected. We waited a good ten minutes at the empty host stand before being seated for dinner. We sat down at 6:45 and told our waitress we needed to get our food by 7:30 to make an 8:00 show. She said that should be fine. There is a “gluten friendly” section on the menu but she really didn’t have knowledge beyond that section.

After we ordered, she came back and said that the kitchen was backed up and our food wouldn’t be ready by 7:30. She suggested we get appetizers. There is only one GF appetizer, the basic poutine, so we got it and my 13yo son got a milkshake.

The poutine was fine - I’ve had better. Fries were hot, gravy was warm, cheese was cool in spots. Overall I am grateful to our kind waitress and I didn’t get sick, but the experience was disappointing.

If you go, know that it is barely a step up from fast food and not very fast at that. Allow lots of time! We made it to our show but overall it was a sad GF dinner.

Staff were very aware about allergens and took precaution when preparing our food. Fries were done in a dedicated fryer and were delicious and fresh. Hamburger was extremely tasty, although the gluten free bun disintegrated and was very dry. Poutine is gluten free too and was also very good.

Excellent food and service. They have a gluten free menu and dedicated fryer for fries. It's a "build your own burger" place so the GF menu list all of the items, toppings, buns and sides you can choose from. I can't remember the last time I had such a flavorful burger with unique toppings. And fries! The food meet every expectation.

Knowledgeable staff. All toppings and condiments are gf except onion rings. Portion size was good. Dedicated frier and bottomless fry’s. Parking and crowds in general area are terrible on a weekend. Luckily, no wait at restaurant, but no ac in summer. Single stall restrooms. Food was ok, but expensive. GF bun was OK, but works best with smaller burgers. Delicious and safe GF meal! All beef burgers are gf. Gf bun is tasty. I had the B.A.B. burger with bacon added. Was delicious. Many side dish options. I chose fries. (There is a dedicated fryer.) The fries are bottomless, however I couldn't finish the ones that came with my meal. Burger was huge. Great service. Knowledgeable staff. It was $25 dollars for my meal. (Gf bun is $2) Overall a delicious and safe option for a meal at the falls.

Our first time here! My son who has celiac loved to build his own burger and they have a dedicated fryer for fries!! They are amazing!! He ate his whole entire plate and they even have gf poutine which was really good.

The server was super friendly and knowledgeable with celiac. They had a gluten free section on their menu with a few different options. Family of 4 shared a poutine and the server told us that they had dedicated fryers and will take extra precaution.

I had high hopes ordering because of the positive reviews but unfortunately I didn't have the same experience.

Wait staff seemed unknowledgeable about what a dedicated fryer was and while they did confirm with the kitchen that the fries were cooked separately from the onion rings and other gluten items - that didn't stop a piece of onion ring from ending up in my poutine and by the time I realized it...it was too late.

I understand if its not a dedicated GF restaurant its at your own risk, but when i've ate safely at many other non dedicated GF restaurants...it was quite disappointing. Won't go there again.

Server was very knowledgeable about GF. She is gluten intolerant Although they have a dedicated GF fryer she suggested that my fries are cooked in the oven as she had concerns that the staff last night contaminated it. Apparently dryer gets cleaned 3x a week. Limited GF menu on main menu. Burgers cooked to med and mine came out pink so they took it back and heated it up. Burger and fries were delicious. Giving a 3 star because they couldn’t guarantee the gf fryer wasn’t contaminated. Seriously!?

J'ai la maladie coeliaque et je vais rarement dans les restaurants mais la serveuse dans celui-ci a su me mettre en confiance. Couldn’t believe we found this gem! Staff were knowledgeable about GF and guided me through their menu. Most things on the menu were GF but what wasn’t she said they could adapt. Also had a dedicated fryer just for GF fries and they are bottomless! Burger was really tasty and one of the best GF buns I’ve had as it didn’t fall apart. Great place to go.

We have two kids who are very gluten sensitive, cross contamination causes rashes and awful stomach issues. We spent 4 nights in Niagara and visited this restaurant 3 times! Everyone loved their food including my husband and oldest son who can eat anything but are very picky about what they like! Fries are fried in a dedicated fryer and they have gluten free hamburger buns. Wait staff was incredible, knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! This was one of the few times my kids have eaten out and not had symptoms after. Knowing we had a safe place to go without endless searching every day was beyond priceless! Thank you The Works!!!!!

My daughter has coeliac disease and is 9. She loves this place so much we came back again the next day. She had a burger the first day with poutine and the second day they accommodated the cheesey bread from the kids menu in a gf bun. Huge portions and too much choice!

Good food and the most burger options I have ever seen. This restaurant definitely has character. I have never drunk soda out of a measuring cup before. I was amused by the bathroom signs.

CAREFUL WITH THE FRYERS:

They are not good at informing people about how their fryers work. On my first trip I was told the fryers are dedicated, but on the second trip I got a manager and he explained that there is a risk of cross contamination. As shown in a lot of the reviews below they tell a lot of people they have dedicated fryers. However, they double fry their fries. In the morning they cook their fries in all the fryers, but then when cooking the fryers later in the day they use the "dedicated" fryers. However, fries that were cooked in the non-dedicated fryer are then cooked in the "dedicated" fryers thus cross-contaminating them. The manager said they are going to work on educating their staff not to use the non-dedicated fryer in the mornings, but that it may be a while before the staff is adequately trained.

I would have given more stars if they weren't misinforming people about having dedicated fryers. I am still marking it celiac-friendly as long as you stay away from the fryers.

We had to wait a bit to get GF questions answered (including re GF bun ingredients for someone who has other allergies beyond gluten), but server was really accommodating and helpful. The food is good, but nothing crazy special. The fact that burgers are close to $20 made me knock off the 5th star. But it’s great to be able to eat somewhere that cares about GF safety—they have a dedicated fryer and cook GF burgers/buns on separate grill area.

BEST FRIES IN NEWMARKET. They have a great lunch deal, $15 for a burger, side and pop. The burger was 4oz I believe, but it was the right size for a filling lunch. Their fries are bottomless, and I could not get enough of them. Crispy and salty, but still very potatoey. Our waitress let us know they’re fried in a dedicated fryer, and are cut in house. Their gluten free bun wasn’t my favourite, and fell apart a little, but $1.50 up charge wasn’t the best. They serve the pop in measuring cups, which was neat, and very fizzy. I highly recommend stopping by. The onion rings are very crispy, an extra $4 and not gluten free, but you can hear a very audible crunch.

The BAB burger on gluten free bun was amazing!I asked and the Server said no dedicated fryer for the fries but nobody's reported issues so I tried anyways and ended up with a small piece of fried chicken mixed in my fries that I didn't find until half way through. I dont have symptoms so won't know if I was truly glutened. I'm just on vacation and wanted to try it out. Thought I should let others know as I went based on the reviews !
