Review of Thirsty Mermaid

I looked at the menu online before we went and it seemed easy enough to modify some of the dishes to accommodate my gluten free diet. We went with another couple and when we were seated the waiter asked if there were any questions. I explained my gf requirement and was met with an immediate snotty attitude. He told me they would do their best, but they make their own pasta and everything is contaminated and he couldn't guarantee my meal would be safe. Had it just been myself and my husband we would have walked out. I ended up ordering a burger with no bun with a side of potato salad. Food was not that great. Burger was cooked perfectly, that's about all I can say. I didn't get a full on glutening, but I felt like crap the rest of the night. The others in my party (not gluten free) were not impressed with their meals either. We all agreed for the price we would have expected more. My husband asked if they had oranges, he wanted one for his wheat beer and the answer was "No". Not "gee, no, I'm sorry we don't". Just a flat out NO which was very rude.
