Soooo good and we loved the vibe! It was really nice not to have to worry about gluten at all, and just enjoy the meal. We had the mac and cheese, chicken drumsticks, and biscuit and all were amazing. The drinks were equally awesome <3

The chicken and biscuits are sooo tasty…. The chicken is a bit fatty because it’s dark meat but it’s delicious…. Definitely worthy a trip! Also be sure to get frozen biscuits to go… super tasty and inexpensive compared to what you’ll get at the grocery store or anywhere else I’ve found…

This place is a must for Celiacs and non gluten free people alike! Everything was unique and delicious and a completely safe gf kitchen!

Thunderbolt is a welcoming environment, completely GF, with Indoor and outdoor seating options—we loved the Cajun French friends and pimento poppers SO much! Highly, highly recommend it is a Celiac dream!

Fries were really good! Fried chicken also good. Biscuit was very “real” in texture but had a weird aftertaste. Please note that while their menu says it’s safe for celiacs, when I asked if their ketchup was homemade (sauces are a huge source of CC for me), they said it was Heinz. Unfortunately in the US, Heinz isn’t declared GF on the label, so not worth the risk for me. If you’re not sensitive to 20ppm stuff, you’ll probably be fine, but I was disappointed to see a dedicated GF facility not have a better sauce option. Still super yummy and good vibe though!

A celiac's dream! All food & bev is celiac safe. The cocktails are amazing. The FOOD is even better. Fries, Mac n cheese, fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits. HELLO?! Yes the service can be slow but it's a bar, not a restaurant. The people who work here are great and it's so special to have a place like this where celiacs can feel welcome and safe.
Def give yourself 10 minutes to find parking.

The fried chicken biscuit was unbelievably good! I went with a few non-celiac friends who loved it as well. The service was a little weird but overall fast and everything was celiac safe.

GET THE BISCUIT. Parking is tough but 100% worth it. Taste and texture of everything on the menu is fantastic.

Wouldn’t let me in because I didn’t carry ID though I’m an old lady. Wouldn’t let me order to go. Sadly it was the owner himself who refused to let me order and I took a cab out there and had nowhere else to eat, visiting from out of town. Would have liked to try it, but the cold service means I won’t.

The tasty food doesn’t make up for the lack of service (25 min just to get a water or a “hello” and then never seeing our actual server again after placing our initial order). 3 of us wanted to order more food and our server just passed us 20 times without ever coming to check on us or cash us out. We never even had the opportunity to ask our server any questions or get a second round of drinks. We ended up just leaving cash on the bar because no one came to check on us or cash us out for quite some time. I wanted to love this place but just can’t. This is the first gluten free place in the area that’s been a disappointment for me.
As for the owner’s response, there were NO QR CODES on the tables - just a paper special event menu. If we were supposed to order at the bar, we would have loved to know that. The bartender never once spoke to us while standing there waiting to try to pay, either.

Hi, we are a bar! We do not have dedicated table servers. It is the first message that pops up when you open our QR menu. Ordering takes place at the bar.
Server was friendly and very knowledgeable about celiac. Apparently the owner has celiac so they're very aware of what can cause illness. The chicken sandwich was so good I died a little. I'm glad I don't live close, they'd have all my money.

Amazing drinks, friendly staff, chill pub atmosphere, delicious chicken and biscuits. I ate way too many fries just because I could!

This place is amazing!!! We pretty much ordered everything off the menu and ordered seconds of the drummettes and biscuit. I’ll be back!

Order the wings! Best wings I’ve ever had. Ordered the tropipop which was good but a little to sweet for me. Also enjoyed the chicken sandwich on a biscuit, cheese balls and Mac n cheese. Everything here is gluten free except some of the beers. Atmosphere is great, hipster kinda dark vibes. I would come all the time if I lived anywhere close to here 😀 the bartender shared the owner had celiac and this is why he has a 100% gf menu. Makes u feel very safe to come eat freely 👏

This was my first GF restaurant experience and I really enjoyed it. My dad (not GF) enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich as much as I did, and we both loved the fries!

We went here before a Dodger game because it's right near the stadium and all the food is gluten free, but the drinks are not. It was fun to get bar food and it was a cool atmosphere, though very few options are on the menu. The fries were amazing and I also enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich. The gluten eaters with me loved the fries and said the sandwich and the wings were great. We also tried the poppers and those were ok, but not my favorite. On their website, they explain that you don't have a dedicated server, so you can flag anyone down or order at the bar. We did get a little attitude from one bartender, but the rest of the staff were great!

Holy crap. Best gluten free fried chicken and biscuits I've ever had. Menu is 100% gluten free. Drinks are so good and service is great. Only drawback is parking but worth the wait. Fried green tomatoes are fire.

EDIT: We came back and got the pimento cheese poppers. A must-try. Also, the chicken sandwich rules.

Delicious! They ran out of pimento cheese poppers, which was a bummer, but the biscuit, fries and collard greens were all great. Cocktails were good, too, and very fun vibe. 🕺🏼

Yes the rumours are true, it’s a fully GF kitchen. The menu is select and snack oriented mostly but go to town. Biscuit was a nice treat though and one of the bestGF ive had!

One of the best places I’ve been able to eat at in a looong time, and the whole menu is gluten free! The vibes are great, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable-apparently the owner is Celiac. I went on Lunar New Year so they had a special menu and it was incredible! Every bite was delicious and of exceptional quality. I can’t wait to go back!

Found this place on the app thanks to community reviews and had to go -- this is a gluten free GEM! The entire menu is GF, but they're not in your face about it, it just is! And it is so good. I did not get sick eating here and of course confirmed it was all GF.
Gluten free biscuits and fried chicken, fried green tomato sandwiches, seasoned fries, hand pies. Such a treat. The pimento cheese was exceptional, my grandmother and mom make pimento cheese and this compares to theirs. Would love to see a pimento cheese sandwich for a real southern classic. The gluten free biscuit .... I do not know how they do it. Best GF biscuit I've ever had. Did not crumble or break and supported a large, perfectly cooked chicken thigh and delicious condiments. Had that buttermilk tang, exterior crunch, and interior softness. The cocktails were also great, the espresso martini on nitro was one of the better ones I've had. Bartenders were awesome too. My one critique would be more GF beer, like Divine Science, Groundbreaker or Holidaily. They only have Soonish which is GF but arguably not beer So very glad I've found this spot. Super bummed I missed the GF pasta extravaganza over Halloween (check their Instagram) but there's always next year! They mark GF / DF / veg / vegan on the menu. It is admittedly a small menu but it’s bar food which I never get to have, and awesome bar food at that. They do serve beer but that seemed like the only gluten in the place, and is easily avoidable. I died and went to heaven, and I can't wait to go back!

So about a month ago this place changed their menu to be 100% gluten free! Celiac owner decided enough was enough. Amazing southern inspired bar food like fried chicken on a biscuit - all GF! Ate here with no problems. Cocktails are outstanding too.

This spot is a local neighborhood favorite with plenty of accolades for their impressive cocktails. It’s a little known secret that the owner is a bona fide Celiac recently diagnosed and he is actively working on implementing more gf menu items. The bonus here is that they do in fact have a dedicated gf fryer and the staff is pretty well versed with their menu. They have a menu that lists all of the gf/v options online including the one beer that is gluten free, which my Celiac wife thoroughly enjoys.
