Update 4/15: Tinga just fed me hidden SOY SAUCE. No apologies. No refund. Just defensive posturing about how I didn't use the word celiac carefully enough.

DO NOT go to Tinga. They do not know what they are doing, nor do they care.

Old review:

I want to love Tinga, but I did get a gluten reaction there -- and I was being super careful. They are trying, but they need better staff education and consistency.

I've been told that the chips are totally celiac safe, and I've been told they have cross contamination. Fine for folks trying to avoid gluten, but celiacs need to be extra vigilant there.

Menu says, "Ask about our GF options" but server said, "All we have is the tiny corn tortillas." They offer numerous wraps but have no GF tortilla big enough for them. So it's tacos, pretty much. If they could just add a 10" GF tortilla "wrapper," which are plentiful in stores, they'd open up the majority of their menu items for GF diners. Food is pretty tasty and the restaurant is extremely kid friendly. The balloon man who works a couple of evenings a week is amazing.

We've been a fan of Tinga for years. Great place for families, great food and they've always been very good about understanding GF eating.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Unfortunately, I think my XC concerns got lost somewhere in the kitchen. I had a burrito bowl and I got sick within 20 minutes of leaving the restaurant. I was sick for three days. It is also unfortunate that the food was not even worth getting sick for. My dish was relatively flavorless, the grilled chicken was dry, and the beans tasted burnt (I did not think this was possible).

I have had plenty of real Mexican cuisine. Tinga is not even close. I can make a more authentic meal in my college dorm with a Crock-pot.

Are here yesterday and had BBQ Pork tacos and enjoyed every second of it. So delicious and different with the BBQ pork meat/sauce. Had a soft corn tortilla inside a hard taco shell. Really loved it.
