Tell them you have celiac disease or wheat allergy---they will do everything they can to avoid any cross contamination. Good people!
If no stars was an option you'd would be my rating. I walked up to the counter and explained that I can't eat gluten for medical reasons - can you help me with what I can order. The guy looked at me like I had two heads - the other worker did I could do a tortilla wrap. OK... What are they made of? They did show me the package - aside from seeing corn (probably gmo) and soy (probably gmo), I wasn't getting too excited about eating one but thought, oh well. But then there's the clincher - printed on the bottom : Made. on equipment shared with sesame seeds and wheat. Uhhhh.. No thank you! I kindly said to them that this wasn't going to work for me - are there other options? They just kind of shrugged and said no. I thought maybe I could get a salad or soup but since they weren't interested in helping me, I want interested in trying to make something work. Bummer!
They have GF wraps, chips, salads and soups available. Attendant got new gloves when I said I have celiac and put paper barriers between the wrap and the grill. I got a Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap. She wasn't sure about the sauce, so I took her suggestion of mustard and mayo. Very good and I felt very comfortable eating there.
I've had good luck at other locations, but at this location I came in and asked for a gluten free tortilla wrap. She changed her gloves, which was great. Usually they are very good about having the tortillas stacked individually on parchment paper so it never touches the counter. But she didn't have any parchment paper ready, and set my tortilla down on the rim of a large salad mixing bowl before setting parchment paper down and flipping my tortilla onto it. The salad must've been full of croutons because I had diarrhea all day. I should've asked for a new one.
I've been here twice and ordered the gluten free wrap. Both servers were very careful to change their gloves and clean the cutting board. They also placed clean paper on the wrap in the heating press. Good flour tortilla taste. No issues with the stomach. Note: I also take a digestive enzyme with my meal.
it's Hit or Miss depending on the server. they do have gluten free wraps and they keep them separate using fresh pieces of paper and they change their gloves. but they still dip their knife in the same Mayo. I get sandwiches that have oil squirted on them and usually I'm OK.
I got a Cuban sandwich with the GF wrap. The sandwich itself was a bit disappointing, but then again, I am Cuban and we make media noches all the time at home. The wrap though was very good!! Pliable and did not taste GF at all!! Will definitely come back, but I advise that you get a different sandwich.😉 They were very careful about cross-contamination, too.
They have very good gluten free wraps here. And the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!!
I pick up lunch here often and the staff is super accommodating with hand washing, glove change and keeping my GF wrap protected from the "other" stuff when they put it in the press to warm. I have never had a bad reaction & I just recently discovered the Broccoli Cheese soup (mostly cheese) is also GF!!!!! Soup, Salad and Sandwich is severed.
gluten free wrap is very good. service was excellent! owner Immediately changed gloves and cleaned surfaces as soon add I said I wanted gf. assured me that if she wasn't there never hesitate to ask any of her staff to take any precautions I felt appropriate. highly recommend for quick bite to eat. of course establishment is not gf so there is always a chance for cross contamination.
This place is awesome! The gf wraps are delicious and the guys there are really nice and accommodating. I personally read the ingredients for the wraps and they are gf! But they do contain soy, for anyone with a soy allergy.. Also, we found that the triple dip has au jus which has gluten(barley), but they make it without it for us. Turkey avo wrap is delicious! Their allergy info is online and also available in the store
I've eaten here several times and they are super careful! I've never gotten sick from here.
I have celiac disease and I've eaten here without a cross contamination issue, but I'd only do it during non-peak times. The staff is great and willing to take precautions but when they are busy the risk for cross contamination is just too high. That's the only reason I gave it a 3 instead of a 4. Their GF wrap was good and didn't fall apart while I was eating my veggie wrap, which I loved.
Not recommended for Celiacs. No dedicated GF area. My sandwich maker did change out his gloves, but didn't change out or sanitize his board. Celiacs shouldn't have mayo because they spread it on with a spatula (which has been in contact with sandwich bread then thrust back in the container many, many times before). The only thing Celiacs can eat here is a wrap with just meat and a sauce, as all other ingredients are served without tongs. Maybe with more allergen training and a dedicated GF area this location could be ok (albeit limited), but as of right now Celiacs should stay away.
Only have slight reactions from being near the other food with gluten (I'm just crazy sensitive) but has so many options and they are careful to not cross contaminate. Wish their meat wasn't processed though. Total review, pretty happy for not fixing it myself.
They will make any of their sandwiches on a gluten-free wrap, and they are super-tasty! However, some of the employees aren't trained on heating the wrap for 10 seconds beforehand, and they rip. I watch them like a hawk, and make sure they heat the wrap!!
I ate here yesterday, I loved the Asian chicken wraps before I got diagnosed with Celiac. So I decided to try it again after 6 months of being GF. I was AMAZED at the tortillas that are GF. OMG SO GOOD. I even called the manager to see if I can buy some to take home. Unfortunately you can't. They get it from a distributor that makes them strictly for Togo's. But the manager told me that if you inform the staff that you have celiac to also make sure you let a manager know, if you request new gloves, or them to clean the area before they make your food they gladly will. The only set back was when I ordered the Asian chicken wrap I told the lady I was celiac and had to be GF, well she gave me the GF wrap but didn't take out the croutons, I took it home and bit into it THANKFULLY I only had a minute amount and it only made me throw up one time (but that was later in the evening). So when I called her to let her know what she did she was very apologetic and made me a new sandwich right away. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: One thing I have learned, just because you have Celiac Disease doesn't mean the rest of the world automatically knows what it is. I didn't even know what it was before I got diagnosed. So you have to be patient with others that are unfamiliar. You cant give a bad rating just because one of the Employees didn't know about Gluten. Its your place as a Celiac to help others understand the importance of taking the precautions when working in a food place with a celiac as a customer.
My experience here was fantastic! I not only LOVED the GF wrap but the customer service was amazing.:) The server changed gloves & got a new knife from the back while preparing my wrap ... without asking. And I'm on crutches (recent foot surgery) so the server carried my tray to a table, pulled out a chair for my bad foot, refilled my water cup & threw away my trash ... all w/out adking! The the manager held the door for me when I left. I'll be back!!!
