The staff was knowledgeable about gluten free options and substitutions to make the meal gluten free. The food was delicious and the hotel/ restaurant was so cute!

Wonderful little hotel and restaurant. The food is amazing and southern comfort food. Their fryer is not dedicated gf but there are some options like steak. My partner did not experience any reactions despite accidentally having a few potatoes for breakfast. The staff didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about all of the nuances of celiac so be aware but they do try to inform about what is GF.

WARNING: the menu shows gf on many items. I ordered a fish sandwich marked gf. However, after telling the server I was celiac and needed gf, I received a fish with gf batter served on a wheat bun. I did not take a bite but sent an inquiry to the kitchen. She relayed my question after stopping and chatting at several other tables only to return and confirm it was a wheat bun. The order was returned to the kitchen-cook proposed just taking it off the bun. When I said it was cross contaminated, cook says - if I am so sensitive-well we cook everything in the same fryer so we don’t have anything for you.
Dogs and a cat walked freely in the dining room and kitchen. Cat was observed sitting on the dining room tables.

This is my favorite restaurant. My first visit after my celiac diagnosis. They were very helpful and offered to pan fry oysters. (They don’t have a separate fryer but they do mark gluten free items on the menu).

Well worth the drive for the home stead style food!
