No, this place does NOT take Gluten Free seriously. For example, if you ask them directly if their Miso soup is GF they say no. When you then ask why Miso soup is included in the “Gluten Free Combo” they just stare at you. I’ve been poisoned here 3x due to 1) putting shrimp tempura in a roll that didn’t list it as an ingredient despite me clarifying that everything needs to be GF 2) filling the Tamari bottles with regular soy sauce.

I’m a local so now I only eat Nigri/Sashimi and I bring my own bottle of tamari

I’m a local and go here often, however the last few times I’ve gone and asked for the Tamari sauce - which by definition is wheat free - they bring me regular soy sauce, with wheat right there on the bottle. When I ask again for the Tamari they start arguing with me that the bottle in front of me, that does not have Tamari printed anywhere on the bottle IS the Tamari. I finally have to point out that TAMARI does not have wheat in it and this bottle does NOT say Tamari on it. Only then do the bring me the right bottle. I don’t know what their problem is - be weary, always check.

Our celiac was able to eat sushi here without any cross contamination, which we appreciate. The food was just ok, and we honestly expected better flavors that close to the ocean, but we didn't get sick, and they do offer a wide variety of foods. You can easily take a large group, with various restrictions, and safely eat there, finding something that everyone will be ok with

They have a specific section of their menu that lists gluten free items. Wait staff brought us tamari sauce without us asking for it. She warned us of some potential for cross contamination but we did not have any problem.
