We were served by the manager on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was homey and the manager was very friendly. She assured us that nearly everything could be made gluten free, and that all of their breading and their fryer are always gluten free. My husband enjoyed his gluten free veggie burger, and we shared the fried cauliflower with garlic parm sauce (delicious but heavy!) and my husband’s fries (thin, crispy on the outside, and delicious!) I ordered the GF Mac and cheese which didn’t have much flavor. I did end up getting a bit of a stomach ache a couple of hours after our meal but it was short lived, so I don’t think I got glutened. It was more likely all of the fried food. Overall a good (and seemingly safe) option in the area, but we will likely try a different spot next time we visit North Adams and Williamstown.
This was my second time in the area and second time dining here. They are very aware of the appropriate protocols and take every precaution. No gluten in their fryers EVER. So many gluten free options and everything is delicious. As soon as I said "I have Celiac", our server was so excited to share how careful they are and how many choices I had. I highly recommend Trail House Kitchen & Bar and will dine here every time I come out to the area.
I've been quite a few times to this cozy restaurant because they had quite a few gluten free options. I just went back this past weekend and found that nearly 100% of the menu is now gluten free! I am thrilled. This now includes fish and chips as well as mac and cheese! I decided to try the fish and chips and seafood chowder because I hadn't had them in a long time. The chowder very good, made mostly with white fish, clams and potatoes. I just wish it was thicker and creamier. But overall it was good. The fish and chips were good as well, but the fish was on the thin side and was too oily from the Fryer. I'm hoping it was just an off night as would love to go back and give it a second try. They have a dedicated gluten free Fryer and I believe the kitchen is gluten free as well.
really good burger and fries that I could actually eat with a dedicated frier!! a great little place for lunch :) also, almost every item is either gf or can be made gf!! I think there was only one thing that wasn’t , and our very nice server said it was because the bread is a pastry that they receive from another place.
I’ve been here a few times and never leave with stomach ache like some other places. Almost everything is gluten free or has an option to be made gluten free. The servers are knowledgeable and very sweet in requests and making sure everything is safe. If you are looking for some amazing chicken tenders, check this place out. I could have cried when I finally found these as an option.
Around this area, it is hard to find a safe restaurant for celiacs with a lot of options. But this one beats them all. The options in the menu are signed to see which ones are GF, the staff is amazing, the food is the best gluten free food I've eaten in a long time. Very recommended.
Great spot. So many options. Got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries (dedicated fryer). Just about everything on the menu can be made GF. They even brought me out a grilled sandwich roll to dip in some oil as others at my table had the regular bread. Such a wonderful experience!
I told the waitress I have Celiac and ordered the gluten free version of their pasta. There was a discussion about the type of pasta I may receive, so I assumed the GF issue was well noted.
Paid my check and was literally walking out the door when someone comes running over to me to tell me that I did not in fact get a gluten free meal - that a mistake was made and they served me the “regular” version.
For a restaurant that markets itself as “catering to allergy-sensitive needs,” this restaurant seriously needs to do better/try harder.
Really good food! Their gluten free buns aren’t the typical Udi’s bun, they are so much better. They almost have an “everything bagel” roasted onto the top of the bun. They hold together better and are just YUM! Their other foods are great and they are able to actually dedicate space to being gluten free! No disappointment, that’s for sure!!!
This place is amazing. There whole menu is GF or GFO. They have a separate fryer. Food was delicious and was quick. I had the Fish n Chips. Fish was lightly battered. Definitely coming back.
Had a wonderful dinner with my family. Kids had a hamburger and Mac and cheese. My wife had a balsamic chicken dish with goat cheese. I had gf fish and chips. We sat outside and the wait staff was very attentive. They even had a gf chocolate chip skillet cookie. No problems afterwards. Would definitely go back if I am in the area.
Make sure you check what you are eating with the waitress. Yesterday I was served a roll that was not gluten free because they didn’t check what was inside a box labeled gluten free. I had eaten some of it before they even noticed. The food was not good anyway. Don’t bother with this place
Menu had lots of GF items and staff was very knowledgeable about what was possible. Owner is GF, which explains a lot. Even had GF cookies for dessert! Lovely atmosphere. Not celiac so can’t speak to cross-contamination.
