My husband and I were traveling and chose this restaurant based on the excellent reviews. We often use the Find Me Gluten Free App when we travel. The service we received was incredible! I can say that there was a variety of gluten free options available. I had the chicken Marsala. I will say that this was the best gluten free meal I have had at any restaurant. We will definitely dine here in the future. The staff was very knowledgeable regarding gluten free options and also gave us suggestions. This restaurant is a must try!
DELICIOUS! They have so many options and the waitress was very educated on gluten. I had to stop and make sure that my meal was gluten free because it didn't taste like it! I had a pasta dish and a crème brûlée. My new favorite restaurant for special occasions.
My daughter is strictly Gluten Free so for her birthday we had a party for her in the wine room. This was an amazing treat for her. A party that she did not have to cook and able to enjoy so many great new things is a true treat. Our party had a wonderful time, could not eat all the amazing food and loved the attentive service. The wine list was extensive and the courses just kept coming. We did buy gluten free cupcakes from Cupcakes and the restaurant displayed them beautifully. A memorial night.
This place is amazing! An expansive gluten-free menu, wonderful service, great atmosphere, knowledgable wait staff, out-of-this-world food. Best GF discovery we've had in a long time. What a treat to eat Italian and not worry or be highly limited by lack of choices. We are so used to only having a few items to choose from at most restaurants that boast GF, it took us a while to decide what to finally order!
The restaurant is under new ownership. Had the chicken marsala, and as sick as I am, there is no way it was gluten free. The pasta that was served was gluten free and very undercooked. Do not recommend for celiacs.
The service was horrible. Brought me out a regular entree (not gluten free) and said “my bad” absolutely terrible experience overall. Had to walk out after waiting over 45 minutes and my correct entree still had not come out.
The menu is marked with GF items but the waitress literally knew nothing about GF. Even admitted it. Then when the menu was questioned, she said she didn’t know and didn’t even inquire. When my pasta came, it tasted GF so let’s hope it was!!
We had a super nice server and they were more than willing to double check with the kitchen on things for me. My food was so so. The salad was great but the alfredo sauce was very bland. My husband, who isn't gluten free, said his gluten filled meal was really good. So maybe I just got the wrong dish. They did say the only penne pasta they serve is gluten free so be aware of that as a double check. No ill effects afterwards, just not a fan of my meal.
They have gluten free options marked but we had to ask for everything that would be dairy free. The waiter wasn’t that knowledgeable but when asked him to ask the chef, he did so. They asked the chef and he seemed very knowledgeable and just replaced items to accommodate us. We are highly sensitive to gluten/dairy free with celiac. The gluten free pasta was delicious! And cooked perfectly.
Great place. Totally get celiac and very accommodating. Gluten and soy intolerant and they made it all work easily. More than 1/2 the menu is gf. Enjoy. It's pretty great food.
The hostess explained about 'GF' printed right next to the entrees printed on the menu. The waitress who took our orders, acknowledged my GF request, and even advised me that GF pasta would take a bit longer to cook. When the entree was carried in by a different staff, it looked wonderful. I ate half including pasta as it was delicious. Then I started feel bloated. I asked my daughter to taste my pasta and my mom's regular pasta. She said they both tasted same. I immediately called the waitress and she told me that the pasta was not GF. She apologized and agreed to deduct my dinner from the bill. By then, I already became so upset because I wasn't looking forward to be sick. I decided to talk w/the manager & told him it was no fun for me to miss work by dealing with gluten allergy symptoms. He kept apologizing and asked me if he could do anything. He asked me to email him if I get worse. He gave a full refund. It turned out the cooks or chefs were not reading the orders right.
This place used to be great for Celiac. But they have lost an understanding. This weekend my gluten free penne pasta had pieces of regular linguini and shells in it. The chef said they stopped using wheat pasta and only use egg pasta so I should be fine.
I've been here twice. They tend to cook the GF pasta Al dente and that's fine for the regular pasta, but not for the GF kind. If you order GF pasta, ask your server to make sure it's well done. otherwise they have the best GF menu selection anywhere.
I ate here twice and had a reaction both times. ( wasn't sure it was the restaurant the first time so treed again). They do have an extensive gf menu, but must cross contamination. My son also reacted.
Great GF options that are clearly labeled on the regular menu. No bread though and food was just okay. Kind of bland. Good to be able to get pasta with Alfredo sauce though! Probably wouldn't go back again.
Food was amazing! Even had my favorite GF desert (creme brûlée) and GF ginger beer. Seemed a little pricey ($15+) until the food came, so well worth it. Even my 2yr old ate my chicken and he eats nothing. The whole family left happy and best of all no reactions. This is on our permanent list of favs.
Amazing food and very knowledgeable staff. Our server was so friendly and helpful! Hard to find in a restaurant here in the midlands. Moving from CA to SC was so discouraging; but I know Travinia will get it right and I will be able to eat without worry of being sick later. Absolutely 5 stars!!
In general, my food has been ok here. I've eaten here several times and never had a reaction. Staff is always great. I usually get gf pasta with Alfredo sauce and ask for veggies to be added. Sometimes the veggies are cooked and other times not. Then I get up-charged for veggies and gf. My dish often costs more than a dish with meat in it. I don't understand that at all but us celiacs are used to it, aren't we?
I haven't had Italian since learning I have a wheat intolerance & would've never thought to venture into an Italian restaurant for GF. Absolutely fantastic food. Many dishes available as GF. Nice ambiance. Professional, friendly & knowledgeable server. Highly recommend.
We eat here about every two weeks. I usually get some sort of pasta mix. Sometimes the sauces aren't quite what I requested. But the pasta is really good and I've never had a problem. We always eat insides. I've never been sick even when it's busy, if you have a problem tell the manager, they are always there and concerned, to the point that since I have small hands I've started asking for different glasses to drink out of and they said since they've had to many issues with them they're replacing them.
Very disappointed I tried them for the first time today. The location and decor were nice. There was no one inside and only a couple of small groups outside. It was a very warm and sunny day, so I chose outside seating. However, when the host asked me to choose a table, all but one were dirty- covered in plates, glasses, etc. Naturally I chose the clean one, and asked if I could have an umbrella like the other tables, which he said was fine. When the waitress arrived, I told her I was considering two items, and she made a suggestion - the braised short rib rigatoni- and also recommended a caesar salad. I told her that I could not have gluten and asked if the croutons could be left off and she said yes. I also reminded her about the umbrella. The food was delivered by a different girl who brought the salad and pasta all at once and of course there were croutons. When I pointed them out, she quickly took the plate away. Seconds later the waitress returned with what was clearly the same salad with the croutons removed. I almost never send food back or complain, but there were still crumbs in the salad. I told her to just take it away. The pasta honestly did not look very appetizing. It looked like plain noodles with some canned tomatoes, and a negligible amount of melted cheese and stringy meat that was almost mush from overcooking. It was like a crock-pot meal from the freezer aisle. After several minutes sitting in the sun, no one had brought the umbrella or cleaned any of the other tables despite the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty the entire time. When I asked again, the waitress said she'd look into it. The second girl then suddenly arrived, grabbed an umbrella from the ground, and without warning began trying to position it on the table. She didn't attempt to dust it off or allow me to move my food. There was a live insect that appeared to be dangling from a web and I asked if it was a spider. She replied sarcastically that "you can't really help that when you're outside." I held my plate and water glass away from the table as we both watched the insect, amongst dust and who knows what else, fall to the table and scurry away. Then I called the waitress over and asked for the check. She seemed genuinely concerned that I had hardly touched the pasta, but my stomach had become upset after the first couple of bites. When the waitress returned, she boxed up the remaining pasta, which was nice of her, and she had billed me only for the lunch price of the pasta and removed the charge for the salad altogether. Ultimately I was expecting a nearly $25 check plus tip that ended up being about $15 for everything. All in all, it was the most bizarre experience that I have had at any restaurant, ever. Too bad, I was hoping to occasionally stop in to get my pasta fix. One star, because despite it's appearance and texture, the flavor of the pasta was not bad and one star for the waitress.
We went for my mother's birthday this past weekend and had an amazing time! My mother is not only gluten-free but she has several other food allergies. She was able to have a wonderful meal with 20 of her close friends in their Wine Room. We will definitely be going back!
Lots of options on their GF menu, but the last two times I ate there I got sick. Not sure what happened. The four times prior I was ok. Not so happy with how management reacted after we called back to inform them.
Loved it! Great Italian restaurant with an extensive gluten free menu (including chicken Marsala and fettuccini Alfredo). The manager told me the owner has a relative with Celiac disease and strives to provide GF diners with a wide range of choices. The pasta dish was great and no health issues followed. Going back for lunch today.
Was excited after reading the positive reviews so hope this was just an "off" night because the myrtle beach site was disappointing. Staff was not well informed and the food was cold. The GF menu was impressive but many items were not available. We have decided not to return. 👎
