Review of Tsunami

Dangerously uninformed staff and poor food. I give this two stars because I (celiac) did not get sick, but my partner (egg allergy) did. We ordered miso soup, nigiri, and maki rolls. Miso soup was fine, nigiri was okay but the rice tasted burnt and off, and for some reason they added spicy mayo to a yellow tail maki roll though we did not ask for that. The fish in the other maki roll was very bad. When I asked the server if there was only fish in the roll, they replied yes. I said it tasted like there was spicy mayo and they replied yes again. I told the server that my partner (who at that point was throwing up in the restroom) has an egg allergy, and they replied that there is no egg or dairy in the mayonnaise. I informed them that mayonnaise is made from egg and they asked if I wanted them to check. I said sure and they did find out that mayonnaise is indeed made from egg, and the server came back and said “well he didn’t tell me about an allergy sooooo” and then took the plate of food away. Never mind that we did not order anything that should have had egg, and even if we had, the server does not know what does and doesn’t contain egg anyways. The attitude through the interaction left a lot to be desired and food was mediocre at best. I can’t recommend this place to anyone who has food allergies since the staff is not actually informed on ingredients.
