Delicious, one of my favorite places to eat in Tucson but no longer safe. I get really sick every time now :(

The food is excellent BUT… its not safe (anymore) for people with celiac disease! We used to come here all the time when visiting Tucson, since we’re vegan, and after our daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease back in early 2021, I contacted the owner/chef and she assured me that everything was GF except the one burrito they had on their menu, and we continued to enjoy their food, seemingly with no issue (my daughter never had symptoms). Fast forward a year ago or so, and after eating there, she started feeling sick, nauseous and cramping. That was the first time she showed symptoms. We checked the FGF app and saw that other ppl had problems, which coincided with a new menu where many different burritos are offered🙁 Now not only a big part of their menu is not GF, but they’re also not able to even try to keep items from cross contaminating and feed safely people with CD or severe gluten intolerance. Love the food but it’s not safe for our celiac kid anymore!

There has been a recent change over the past few months. I would not recommend Tumerico for Celiac, gluten allergies, or any food allergies for that matter. They have posted all the allergens in the kitchen and have made it clear if you have any allergies or celiac they cannot serve you. They also refuse to change gloves as a precaution.

We came prepared with a Nima sensor. The tamale, potato tacos, and refried beans tested safe, but the rice was "gluten found." We used four test capsules sussing out what was safe and what wasn't. The food was good. My kids liked their bean burrito (that kid can eat gluten) and potato tacos (that kid has Celiac). the tamales were okay. It wasn't good enough to risk without a Nima sensor though.
The front of house staff told us everything but the burritos were GF, and they did their due diligence letting us know cross contact can occur. So while there is a wide variety of gluten-free options in theory, you'd want the Nima to confirm.

I had a delicious veggie bowl. They seem competent at managing allergies/safety.

Tasty, unique flavors, many gluten free options but watch out for anything fried. Didn’t know it was vegan establishment but we really enjoyed it.

The person at the counter seemed helpful but not completely knowledgeable at first. When I explained cross contamination she steered me away from anything that was made on the grill. I ended up with one of the quinoa vegetable bowls and it was delicious and I had no reaction!

So good! I got tamales, tried the vegan and vegetarian both were great. I was told the only thing not gluten free is the burrito because of the flour tortilla. I am not celiac so didn’t have to push it but they are a vegan focused restaurant so they seem to be good about contamination and good allergies.

We are traveling and finding GF meals is always such a pain! You don’t know the area and it can be a little scary. We found this place from this site. It’s wonderful. Everything is GF. The tacos were wonderful!!! As was the service. They also have GF dessert, but we didn’t. Highly recommend!

So delicious. I love that the menu is always different
Not seperate cooking area! Not celiac safe
Overpriced and kind of tastes like Indian rather than Mexican... Portions are fine, but food is just not so good. As another reviewer mentioned, ASK about gluten in each individual dish since I was told there were a number of dishes that either had cross contamination or flour tortillas. Don't recommend.
What a delicious meal we had here! No issues at all for our three celiacs. We found this place by searching the app- I honestly had no idea it was vegan until after we ate!
Yes
Most of the food at Tumerico is gluten free but they do have several rotating menu items that are not gluten free (e.g., flour tortillas). Also, their fryer IS used to fry gluten so cross contamination is an issue for fried items. People with celiac disease should exercise discretion and ask questions about which items are fried to avoid cross contamination.
Delicious food, abundant portions, totally celiac safe

Neat local scratch kitchen with friendly help. Food was very good with large serving sizes.
Tell them your food restrictions (I am a lactose intolerant vegetarian with Celiac Disease) and put yourself in Chef Wendy's capable hands. You will get an amazing meal. BEST POZOLE I ever ate.
