My family stayed at this hotel and the restaurant staff was incredibly kind to the celiac members of my family. From making mochi pancakes for breakfast to a custom GF pizza for dinner, they were incredibly accommodating.

We’re staying at the resort and were told we could get gluten free breakfast items at Alaia a la carte instead of eating at the buffet. When we got there though, they said they only do the breakfast buffet. NOTHING is labelled with ingredients or allergens (which was shocking to us after travelling all over the world and finding easy g-f options in Europe, the USA, Australia & New Zealand). The guy working the omelette station, told us we could have oatmeal (among other things) and was shocked to hear that g-f people need g-f oats (obviously no knowledge of cross-reactions, which was surprising since he’s the guy cooking & that seems pretty basic knowledge these days).

He got the sous chef for us who (somewhat grudgingly) made us meals from the kitchen so we didn’t have to worry about cross contamination in the buffet. The next morning, we got room service, which was a better value, but nothing was marked, and the g-f pancakes didn’t look like the ones we had yesterday, so even though we called and they confirmed they were gluten-free, we stopped our son from eating them and won’t order them again (the batter was a different color than the ones yesterday that the chef personally assured us we’re g-f).

Honestly, eating at this resort has been a nightmare. If you stay here, I’d recommend driving the 5 minutes to Kahuku and going to the food trucks instead. They’re better value, locally owned and operated, and they seem to know more about gluten-free than the resort staff. (Papi’s Tacos was great!)

We also ate at the resort restaurant Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi— that was better, but again, NOTHING is marked on the menu (or when served) and the server didn’t seem to know much about g-f. When I asked what was g-f, he told us about 2 main course items and the dessert (which was both the least impressive & most expensive molten chocolate cake I’ve ever had). When asked AGAIN about the rest of the menu, he basically said to let him know what we wanted and they could modify it (but couldn’t tell me how the dishes would be modified, which made it difficult to decide). The surf and turf was pretty good, as was the sushi we ordered, but it was like pulling teeth with the service. Bottom line, we cancelled our other reservations and are sticking with the food trucks. Not fancy, but at least we know what we’re getting and they seem to know what they’re doing.

I brought my two Celiac daughters to Roy's Beach House. They don't have a separate GF menu but after talking to a server, we decided to eat here. Both servers we talked to we're very knowledgeable about gluten and how to avoid it in more than half of their lunch menu items. They label the order allergy so anyone that handles it knows. My kids got chicken, salmon, rice with tamari, veggies, fruit and sorbet. They were so happy and the food was delicious. Both kids are sensitive to any cross contamination and no reaction! Highly recommend this restaurant!

We are at Roy’s and there were decent options for my daughter. The chocolate dessert is what she really enjoyed!

We went to Roy's Beach house and had a wonderful dinner. This is a place to go if you have celiac disease. They are very knowledgeable, the waiters are well trained. The fish was really good and they had a choice of desserts.

There are several restaurants here. We went to the Kyla Grill which had amazing gf flatbread and the restaurant at the golf course. Staff knew to ask the chef if they weren’t sure about an item and were extremely accommodating

So there are actually several restaurants at Turtle Bay and my review is for Kula Grille. Almost everything on the menu had a GF indication. I had the Hawaiian Chile pepper chicken, and my son had the Hawaiian GF flatbread. It was all really good. Pricey but to be expected at Turtle Bay. I asked about breakfast and the hostess said the am chef is always happy to accommodate and make a plated breakfast. Roy's just opened 4 days ago and we spoke with the hostess about GF, while the open air atmosphere (same restaurant as Forgetting Sarah Marshall dinner scene shot in) was awesome, the menu was VERY limited and we didn't want to risk it in the first week they were open.
