The food was excellent! I had just as many options as my dad, who can eat regular food. They have a separate kitchen for GF food and the first thing they ask as you walk in the door is if you need a GF menu.
Yes, they do have a good selection of GF options, however 99% contain dairy. Given that a large number of gluten intolerant people are also intolerant of dairy this was very disappointing. If you can eat dairy you’re in luck, otherwise I highly suggest going somewhere else.
OH! MY! GOSH! This was so good. I had the walleye with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes had little pieces of asparagus in them. I have not had walleye in 10 years. It was perfectly cooked, as was the broccoli.
OMG Amazing! The most food options I have ever seen gf. All absolutely delicious. Onion rings. Flat type bread. Ravioli with white sauce and much much more.
This is an epic gf restaurant. Everyone must come here at least once.
I've eaten here many times and never had a worry. The gf menu size and selection is second to none. The owners have celiac and they have a dedicated kitchen.....need I say more.
We love Twigs! My husband and two kiddos are Celiac and this place is our go-to. My kids can eat off the kids menu, get a burger and fries, and feel normal. Hubs loves the shrimp nachos. We've been dozens of times and never been glutened. A must stop for Celiacs!
It sounds like a great place, with a celiac cursed owner who knows the struggle and wishes to accommodate, and their menu was sizable and neatly organized for everything that was gluten free, but it’s a pointless endeavor if their gluten free fryer is broken. At that point it’s just like trying to eat anywhere else. According to our waitress, it doesn’t sound like they’re very well prepared for this either, as in there’s no back up fryer- so it the one goes down you’re out of luck. At this point I’m just speculating though and this probably doesn’t happen often based off some other reviews I’ve read, but just be warned that if their *presumably* one solitary fryer breaks when you go you’ll be disappointed and frustrated when the prospect of sweet, sweet gluten free onion rings is violently ripped away from you. And for the record, their ribs aren’t very good either.
Their menu is amazing. The food is delicious! I couldn’t decide what I wanted for dessert they had so many choices. I went with the molten lava cake. YUM!
So many excellent choices, such good care to protect the eaters, and the food wasn’t just GF, it was Really Really Good! The tempura fish was so light and the sauces all tasty. And I never once questioned the safety of my food.
Twigs does have an extensive GF menu and I did not get sick. That said, the taste of the food was bland.
A MUST stop for any celiac living in, visiting, or driving anywhere near Rochester! I would drive out of my way to visit this restaurant. Nice selection of GF foods. Has separate kitchen where they prepare the GF food. Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable. Even has a small GF cocktail menu. You don’t have to ask for a GF menu, they ask you. I am celiac, but my family is not. We ordered several of the small GF plates and desserts to share. I wanted to try everything, and my family didn’t mind eating GF at this restaurant. I felt like a normal diner for one night. AMAZING restaurant. I wish I lived close by. I would eat here all the time!
Wonderful GF eating. Fish and chips my personal fav!
Huge GF menu.Nice staff, definitely want one in my town.
Eating at Twigs has been the best experience I’ve had eating out since being diagnosed with Celiac. They have a dedicated kitchen, extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a GF menu with a lot of unique offerings. Love this place!
This is by far the best gluten free dining experience I've had. They have a separate kitchen and so many delicious options.
Huge gf menu. Separate kitchen. Both my main dishes on two occasions were just ok. But the gf carrot cake: RUN! don’t walk. RUN to buy it. Best treat in USA so far in my three years of celiac. Only four stars due to suboptimal main dishes. If mains were good it would get ten out of five stars!
Very knowledgeable staff and dedicated kitchen area and appliances. Large selection to choice from including Gf beers
Absolutely amazing!!! My favorite place to eat!!!
It's gluten free just ask one of the owners has celiac
Staff very knowledgeable! Dedicated GF kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful place. Heaven on earth for Celiacs. I felt like a real person, and I ate without worry. Fabulous food and great prices. Don’t miss it!!!
I start every conversation the same way; “our son has celiac disease and food must be 100% GF”. While dining in my husband notice they brought our sons meal with non-gluten free noodles. Tonight we ordered carry out and the manager confirmed they accidentally gave him the gluten version. We certainly knew this after 2+ hours of vomiting and diarrhea. Celiacs beware the staff is very sloppy and manager was “so sorry”. Not safe
Do not trust... Went to Twigs based on recommendations of others on site. Ordered GF but was given non-GF instead. Only after getting violently ill did I realize what they had done. Called and spoke with manager but was given little sympathy or explanation. Ironic that a GF restaurant catering to patients of Mayo Clinic like myself would be so careless. Bottom line, if you need to eat GF, go somewhere else.
love that this place asks you for a gluten free menu. And the prices are not inflated for gluten free! Food was amazing. I had the rissoto poppers, butternut squash ravioli, and cheesecake. Delicious!
Fantastic for celiacs. Amazing menu!
Many good GF options
Amazing fried fish and chips!
Dedicated kitchen for gluten free cooking. I'm a celiac and know I will be safe here. Foods pretty tasty as well.
MY SAFE PLACE. very First question at the host stand is "Do we need gluten free menus?" :) Food has not disappointed me. service is sketchy at times...
Lots of GF options, and very safe. One of my wife's favorites. Where else can you get GF onion rings?!?
8.15.17 I had the Gluten Free Twigs Specialty Country Captain Chicken along with a piece of GF bread. It was really good. Oh, and had some of my husbands GF onion ring Frittis. So good! Knowledgeable staff. I felt very comfortable eating there.
Favorite place to eat when I come to Rochester
The separate gluten free kitchen assures that your food will be celiac friendly.
If you're looking for a safe place to eat you have to go here!! The gluten free menu is AMAZING! The back of the menu says the owner has celiac and they do everything they can to reduce CC. They have a separate gf kitchen and my food came out with a little gluten free tag. She brought my hubby's food first and then commented that she will wash her hands and then bring mine. I've never experienced anything like this! HIGHLY recommend!
Best place for Celiac I've ever been to since diagnosed. This place is literally made for us. Such delicious menu items and variety! Service is fab and don't forget to leave room for dessert!!!
LOVE this place! Just can't express how wonderful the food and employees are here!!!
Extensive GF menu. I had the fish and chips and the onion rings. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! This is one of the best Celiac friendly restaurants I've ever visited.
They have designated kitchen and bring the gf food out separately. My husband has celiac and it's his favorite place to eat.
WOW. A diamond place. Food was tremendous. Fish and chip was very tastee. Applewood smoked meatloaf also very good. Then a huge desert selection. Been celiac for 16 years and I would say the best place I have eaten by far.
Yum! Onion Rings! Wild rice soup! We ate items we haven't had in years! Everything was delicious. The warm bread was a nice little extra. The desserts were fabulous! Plus we had no reactions.
I was in Rochester for three days for a conference and ate here twice. They asked me if I needed a GF menu and gave me (delicious!) GF bread free of charge both times! I got the cheeseburger wrap with French fries both times as well and there was always a little GF marker on my plate. Great atmosphere inside and out, really friendly wait staff, extensive GF menu...this place is awesome!
If you live in Rochester, or are just visiting and have celiac, this place is by far the best. They asked if I needed a gluten free menu before I could ask them. They have a wide variety of choices on the menu and its all reasonably priced. I highly recommend!
Hostess asked if I wanted a gluten-free menu before I had a chance to ask. Large selection on dedicated gluten-free menu. Onion rings were great, as well as the rest of the meal. Our server; Denise; was excellent. Will be stopping here again the next time I am in Rochester.
The hostess asked if we needed a gluten free menu before we were seated (a first for me). I had spaghetti; it was fantastic! large serving size. the gluten free menu appeared to have a lot of options, something for everyone. the gluten free bread was great, too.
Very friendly staff, very careful about cross contamination going as far as bringing the gf food seperate to the table. overall amazing and we got to sit outside!
Wonderful menu, great service. I an allergic to wheat, gluten and dairy. Twigs offered me a ton of dining choices. My husband does not have food allergies and he had a lot of choices. Really good food. Nice outdoor dining available.
Great meal, great time.
Wow wow wow! Best gluten free meal I have ever had! I had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with fries and peach cobbler for dessert! Owner is Celiac!
The have a separate kitchen to prepare gluten free food. This is a celiac's paradise!!! Don't miss it. The waiters are super nice and chill too.
