Was thrilled to get fish n chips GF! It did not disappoint. White flakey fish, fried coating was light. Fries were excellent!!!! I wish I was not just passing through. If you are in the keys head here for lunch or dinner.

Managed to come across reviews of this place after not managing to find anything great in Marathon. Had the crab bisque, the fish dip, the boom boom shrimp basket and the key lime pie. Heck, if my stomach could have handled it I would have ordered one of everything on the menu after a long couple days scrounging for GF scraps in Miami. No reaction to anything so far and mine tends to be instant. The shrimp and the bisque were sublime, and did I mention MOST of the dessert selection was GF? I don’t do PB or chocolate but the Spouster had the peanut butter pie and thought it was *chefs kiss*
It was so fun having actual options and not poorly modified versions of non GF dishes!
Service was friendly and great and we’ll stop by with no hesitation next time we’re in the area.
If you’re in the keys definitely give them a try.

GF fried food heaven! (Plus non fried GF food). Ate here 3 times! Friendly staff and quick service. Loads of fresh GF options. Just off route 1 so you can hear the traffic when sitting outside …but who cares, they have GF fried shrimp, fries, fish & chips and more.

We had a terrible experience here. My daughter had grilled chicken and French fries that they said were cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer. I informed them that my daughter had celiac. Within 2 hours, she was violently ill. I would avoid this place if you have celiac.

The service was amazing! The waitress was able to answer my questions about gluten free options, and the food was amazing! All of their breading for the shrimp is gluten free, so there was a good variety of options to choose from!

Many items are labeled gf on the menu. The waiter said there was a gf fryer, however, I was also served cocktail sauce that had Worcestershire sauce in it. The waiter did not seem to realize that it could contain wheat. He only said there’s no flour in it.

Gluten free fried seafood!!! All the breaded items are gluten free. Shared the fried mahi (not greasy at all delicious crispy breading), shrimp and grits (definitely not low country amazing unique taste), and blackened shrimp salad. A must-stop!

Saw the other positive reviews and decided to come here as a family.
It was a slower evening so the chefs were acting as the servers as well. They were very friendly and patient. Carlos was particularly passionate and explained that when he found out about FMGF he started to make an effort to make more things GF.
He explained the steps they take to be celiac safe such as dedicated fryers and seperate spaces.
The food was delicious and there were numerous GF options including desserts!
The atmosphere was great (we sat outside) and it was a relaxing evening meal.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

We had an awesome GF meal tonight. My wife is a celiac and loved the shrimp and sweet potato fries. I had the Mahi tacos and the crab bisque. Everything was superb and the service was top notch! Simon was extremely friendly and gracious, checking on us often. We will definitely return!
Returned last night, Allie was terrific! The food was to die for, so good! The GF PB pie and Key Lime pie were awesome! Wish we had this group in CO!

Great food and great people! I was so excited to try this restaurant after finding out they offered gluten-free fried shrimp! I love seafood, but thanks to the random gluten intolerance I developed I hadn’t been able to eat a basket of fried shrimp in years! Eating fried shrimp again honestly made my trip to Key Largo! They also offer GF soups and desserts and said 70% or so of their menu items were GF. Everything we tried was delicious! Among the things my husband (who can eat gluten) and I ate were the rice bowl, coconut shrimp (non-GF) which he said were way better than the coconut shrimp he had the previous night at a local fishery, sweet potato fries, and brussel sprouts.
Also worth noting, I forgot my purse at the restaurant and they had it safely put up for me when I realized and called! Thanks for a superb meal and amazing service! We’re definitely putting this spot on our list of places to come back to!

All of their seafood is fried with gluten free coating in a safe fryer. French fries & sweet potato fries are also safe! It was DELICIOUS! The inside is pretty small, but they offer outdoor seating as well and the server was super friendly and knowledgeable about Celiac.

Plenty of GF options, most of the menu is GF. Asked the typical questions and was very comfortable. If you are vegetarian or vegan, the menu is limited. My wife ordered a few tasty side dishes for dinner as a result.

After looking at other reviews and the online menu, my family and I decided to try Twisted Shrimp for dinner. We were happy to have so many gluten free options to choose from. My daughter had a gluten free hamburger— including the bun. I had jerk shrimp over rice and my husband had had the fish and chips. Everything was delicious. We opted to dessert too and tried the key lime pie, salted caramel, and the peanut butter pie.. This was one of our favorite meals in the Keys.
the dining room is small and they don’t have a liquor license yet, but the food was top notch.

I had the mahi mahi. Told waiter I was strictly gluten free. I have a terrible gut ache. Waiter said their fryer is gluten free. I asked about items coated with wheat flour being fried in same fryer. There was a language barrier. I am certain there is cross contamination

Had the FRIED shrimp basket and fries! My husband also had a great GF meal. Safe and knowledgeable here! I cant tell you the last time I had fried shrimp … a decade or better?! It was great! They have a dedicated Gf space in the kitchen and know about allergies. Did not get sick and had a great meal — ate on the patio with my family on our way down to Key West. Highly Recommend!

Small restaurant with a big heart. The fish dip was the only GF option but it was delicious, with just a little kick. Served with GF crackers. But the star of the meal was the shrimp basket. Rice flour dusted shrimp fried to perfection. Was served so hot I had to wait to pick up a shrimp. My friend had the most amazing looking whiskey bacon burger (gluten full not free). If you are in the area, do NOT pass by this place!

Clearly understaffed. Food was okay, nothing special. Waitress was unsure about many gluten free options. I got a rice bowl, but by the time all the food came out lots were not very warm. Came here from the good reviews, but I think they’ll need to take some time to get fully staffed and have a better flow. Has potential to be good. I did not get contaminated. Fries have a separate fryer and there was a charge for water; FYI.

First of all, this is a fantastic place for people with Celiac. They were recently bought by new owners (two brothers) but the food is still exceptional and they have tons of gluten free options. No gluten free buns, but their burger was incredible. Three people with Celiac ate there (one burger, one mahi bowl, and one shrimp skewers, all with fries) and there were no issues. The dedicated fryer is still gluten free! It was their opening week, so service was a little slow as they trained new staff etc. but it was the hardest working staff who did their absolute best to make sure everyone was safe to eat there. I cannot recommend them enough if you are in Islamorada or anywhere in the Keys.

I am a super sensitive celiac and Twisted Shrimp is absolutely able to accommodate TRUE gluten free meals! Kim and Steph are phenomenal. Steph was so friendly and personable upon our arrival. She was knowledgable about food allergies and answered any questions I had. They have a dedicated GF fryer. I had the BEST fish and chips-- and not just any fish MAHI! Best GF fish and chips I have ever had as a celiac. My husband had fish tacos (not celiac) and raved about them. We are absolutely coming back here before we leave the Keys. Highly recommend to anyone-- but especially those with a gluten allergy. Thank you Steph and Kim!
