Sadly, I was unable to eat there. The servers chimed in and were very happy to help find food for me, but after several trips to the kitchen it was revealed that almost all items are deep fried in the same shared fryer. Even items I am used to eating at other Spanish restaurants, and items which are historically roasted. In the end there were nuts:olives/cheese and one cooked dish that were safe. LiTerally EVERYTHING else was either deep fried or had added Gluten. So disappointing.
I had an awful experience at Ultreia. I emailed ahead of time to make sure they can accommodate for celiac and they said they could. I was also dining with a friend with a wheat and dairy allergy. The server assured us she would make sure what we ordered was gluten and dairy free. They don't have a dedicated fryer and options were limited. A dish came out with a sauce that seemed very creamy to be dairy free. We asked the server if she was certain and she said she was. I then looked at the menu again and it was labneh (yogurt). Another dish came out with house fried chips, after they served it I had to ask if was made in a shared fryer and it was. I can't recommend this restaurant. They clearly don't know what ingredients are in the dishes. No system to alert the kitchen of allergies.
Ultreiaxs food is spanish tapas with many gluten free as is or able to be modified. They have a dedicated fryer and knowledgeable staff. They do have to mark a menu and preparation does change from time to time so one does need to be inquisitive. In three times eating there, I have not gotten sick.
