This is our favorite Chinese restaurant and we were so happy to find that it has a separate GF menu and the kitchen takes precautions against cross contamination. Our daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac so being able safely dine out with her has been a challenge. We ordered the GF fried rice, Lotus chicken and Peking chicken. They were able to make the Dry Sautéed String Beans gluten free at our request. A little pricey ( per everything around here), but excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
The food was amazing! Large menu selection, answered all my questions. Talking to the waitress she says that the chefs take preparation and cross contamination very seriously and have a section just for prep in the kitchen. You will not regret it! Portions are family sized, the GF fried rice apparently tastes no different than the normal, so my table got the GF, I got my food first and everyone was able to share no issues!
I’ve been here MANY times. They have a separate gluten free menu and they always repeat the order to confirm gluten free items. Always a great experience and have a variety of options. Items not listed as gluten free can sometimes be made gluten free, like my favorite the Peking Prawns!
Enjoyed light and tasty Wild Prawns with Assorted Vegetables on the luncheon special menu. Hot and Sour soup is included and they substituted a GF vegetable filled broth. Extra $2 charge for gluten free, not disclosed on the menu or at the time of ordering. The dinner menu has an entire page of gluten free options.
Editing this now, from eating there a long time back.
I was excited to be in nice and kinda fancy ambience to eat a gf dinner out.
got the gf peking chicken, which tasted incredible.
I didn’t feel well later on that day and either because i didn’t know i had addictional allergies yet- or- cross contamination- i’m not sure.
I don't do grain - so they were friendly and suggested sauteed broccoli and garlic-- yum
I put 2 stars cuz the chicken was deep fried and coated with i dunno what kind of gf flour- and tatsted awesome- but i did feel bad in my stomach.
Delicious yes!...but i should've asked cuz i don't do grains and it may have been a grain.
I ordered Food to go for my son who has Celiacs. When the food arrived nothing was labeled and when I called to tell them that nothing was labeled they treated me as if I should if known what was gluten free and what was not. My son is now very sick and the staff is taking no responsibility ! Don’t trust the kitchen staff .
The gluten free menu has loads of choices. They will bring you gluten free soy sauce if you ask for it. Great service! I believe they use a lot of cornstarch and rice flour for the fried chicken and shrimp dishes but there are plenty of items that are healthier options like the shrimp with mixed veggies and beef and broccoli don't have coatings.
I have gotten sick after eating here twice so I do not recommend it for Celiacs. But that’s been my experience.
Yes, there was a gluten free menu.Yes, the staff was very nice and seemed knowledgable. However, I found the food to be bland and uninspired. I wonder if they even have a bottle of wheat free soy sauce on the premises. The waitress said the staff will work with you if there is something you want that is not on the GF menu, so next time I'll try that (and bring my own tamari).
