Amazing food and a great place! Servers are always knowledgeable about gluten free safety whenever you mention Celiac. The food is outstanding! There is bar seating, high-top tables, an indoor dining room with large and small tables, and an outdoor seating area that can accommodate diners all seasons.
When we walked in it looked extremely crowded and small, and we were unsure if we would be sat or where (we were a party of 7 and initially only saw small tables). However, as soon as we got to the host stand, they had our table ready in another section of the restaurant. It looks small from the initial point of view and the bar gets pretty busy, but there was ample seating room where we were sat and it was quieter than the bar area. The service was amazing as well as the food. We shared appetizers, cocktails, and had delicious entrees. Not one complaint from our group. I had the wedge salad to start and the roadside burger with fries for dinner. Dedicated fryer and knowledgeable servers were a great safety factor. Overall a 10/10 experience. Would come again if I happen to be in the area.
Update: I felt so safe eating here, definitely my best experience yet dining out with celiac. The server went into detail about which items were GF and made sure to mention other potential allergens. She gave me a "cheat sheet" allergen menu to look over which showed GF items, cross contamination, and other allergens (nuts, soy). I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious! Excellent experience.
Had a cheeseburger without a bun (they have GF ones but I prefer just lettuce) and French fries. Dedicated fryer. Service was very friendly and quick, and the waitress was
knowledgeable about GF.
Amazing place great food clean place friendly establishment no gf menu but the wait staff and owner are very knowledgeable about celiac. They clarify if you’re celiac they have a separate fryer and great gf buns and bread for burgers and sandwiches and pretty much everything that isn’t breaded / coated in flour on the menu is able to be served gluten free. I’ve had the Spanish chicken and rice , their burgers, brussel sprouts appetizer , shishito peppers and their steak frites one of the best places I’ve found in Allentown that are knowledgeable on celiac and I never get sick going there
The service and food were wonderful!!! I had wings (sweet and sweaty)…. garlic parm sauce is no longer gf….and the Ruben sandwich. I also got French fries with it. They have a dedicated fryer and the chef and staff are very knowledgeable on gfree and they were able to make recommendations!!! I would HIGHLY recommend union and finch! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Been back numerous times and got the wings (creeper sauce) and a burger with a fried egg on top! Sooo good!
First- great food! Second- waitstaff and kitchen were knowledgeable and kind about helping with our gluten and dairy allergies! Totally recommend!!
The best GF food I have ever had Had the falafel burger delicious
Great spot, was able to get sage chicken wings and fries. All gluten free and made in gluten free dedicated fryer with just Canola oil and nothing else. And only fried and wings go in there. Went there a while back and they did such a good job accommodating and able to get exactly what I wanted safely and was reassured many times. You may not want to go though when it’s super busy bc it is a tighter spot and risks with cross contamination can happen so I would go when it is not as busy so your food can be safely prepared and brought out, that’s what we did.
Hamburger and fries were excellent! Margarita was mixed as I specified! Very nice experience!
Was hesitant to eat here due to a few reviews where people got sick but was meeting friends there. Our server was very knowledgeable and reassuring and upset to hear someone had negative experiences. She has to avoid gluten for another issue but was super careful and double checked everything. I had a Cuban Sandwich and fries (GF bun and separate fryer) which was very good. Oddly, the mayonnaise they use is not gluten free so maybe that’s what got the other persons sick. I have not encountered mayonnaise as having gluten before. My plate had it on the side so I thought I should ask. Thankfully I did. I am super sensitive and would be sick by now if I was exposed. So, just ask questions-they will check for you. Place looks bland on outside but is very nice inside.
They do have a gluten free fryer but claim they don't know the ingredients in some of their wing sauces (?!)
Update: got sick here 2 different times recently. Used to come here a lot. They said they had issues with staff turnover and they are not trained properly. If they are untrained I don't see why they're still offering gluten-free items considering I was outright served gluten on my plate two times. Luckily I did not eat it.
Amazing experience! Loved this place before being diagnosed with Celiac and I think I love it even more now. Waitress asked tons of questions and the manager even came out to ask even more to make sure they made my meal as safe as possible. I would recommend going here during off-peak times as it does get pretty busy. I split the poutine with my husband and had the Union burger on a GF roll. DEDICATED FRYER…need I say more?!
It’s not easy to travel when your kid has celiac, but this place did right by us. The waitress and owner were very knowledgeable. They definitely understood cross contamination, and they went above and beyond to make sure our food was not only safe but delicious. If you’re on the road and need a place to eat, this is it. My only regret is that we don’t live closer.
I have Celiacs and this place is one of my absolute favorites to go to! I almost don't want to share. The food is amazing and they have a separate gluten free friar. That means all the wings and fries to your hearts content. Their burgers are so tasty and they have gluten free buns. I think an owner or family member of the restaurant also has Celiacs. All of the servers understand.
Stopped at Union and Finch on our way to Hershey. We dined outside and had a terrific waitress by the name of Jess. My meal started w fresh burrata, fresh peaches, a balsamic reduction and greens. Dinner was a scrumptious burger with caramelized onions on a gf bun. The truffle fries that accompanied the burger were to die for. Did I mention the white sangria, it was so tasty.
I wished I lived closer because I loved everything about this restaurant and felt completely content.
They have a dedicated fryer, gf buns and the waitress read off the gluten free options from her phone.
The menu is not marked for gluten free but upon asking they did have a gluten free bun. The bun tasted amazing and the burger was excellent.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for excellent food in the Allentown area.
