I went recently and ordered the gluten free pizza like I always do. Everything was the same, but some how I was glutenated. They even brought my pizza out separately from the other entrees. I won't be going back to find out why, but I suspect a mix up in the prep of my pizza (i.e. cooked it unwrapped in the oven). I've gone here many times, without issue, but I'm not about to take another risk.
Had a pretty good gluten free menu. I had the gluten free pepperoni pizza and I thought it was delicious! Waitress not very attentive, had to ask for a tea refill for my husband and I never did get a water refill. But I would definitely eat here again! Delicious!
Updating my review from 3 years ago: Ever since they switched to a "gluten sensitive" menu instead of a GF menu, I've lost some faith in the safety of their food. Make sure to ask questions to ensure no CC. Previous review: I've never had a bad experience at an Uno's! Lots of GF options included in the back of their regular menu and the manager always delivers GF meals. It's nice to know that they take GF orders seriously.
I had the turkey, bacon, guacamole sandwich w/ the gluten free burger bun, it was delicious! Every staff member was so nice.
Went here with my boyfriend and got the gf pizza-hands down one of the best gf pizzas I’ve had. Actually had thick crust and good consistency. I’ve gone to UNOs before and the pizza was okay, but never this good. Waiter said they just got a new crust. Also made completely separately.
They definitely understood what I meant when I said celiac. They have a GF menu and I didn’t react. Overall, I’d say it went well. The Udi bun was dry, but I guess they all are.
Waiter was great, they had GF pizza for my son with celiac and the waiter said he would inform the whole kitchen. Pizza came out separately and was soooo good. All us non-celiacs tasted it and it was better than most gluten pizzas!
Sooo yummy, the pizza is UNREAL and my waitress Elivia was super knowledgeable and made me feel safe eating there! Lots of good options too! Gluten free pizza, buns for burgers and side choices!
The waitstaff understood the allergy. I felt like this is the first time I had pizza in years! The crust is really good and borders on deep dish! But my pizza was cold and the tomato sauce/cheese were frozen in some parts. I would have sent it bank but didn’t want my companions to have to wait/eat without me. Next time I’ll tell them to cook it! I won’t be rushing back but realish pizza is a big draw.
Had lunch there today, they have a gf menu, which I picked off of, burger on gf bun, and mashed potatoes. Asked for well done burger, but it wasn’t. Burger was rather greasy, and the mashed potatoes were tasty, also on gf menu, were very buttery Had some issues a out an hr later, nothing serious, so it could have been the grease/butter I’d proceed w/caution
There are only a few menu options made with gluten free ingredients. The food is absolutely delicious, but they prepare it on shared equipment. It says so right in the menu, so the risk of cross contamination is there. My kid and I are both celiac. I did not get sick, but he did.
My wife: I need a gluten free order, I have celiac disease. Server: You can't see? My wife: No. I'm incredibly allergic to gluten. It will make me sick. Server: So... no glutens? This place was a HUGE disappointment after reading these reviews. Firstly, the menu says "GS" for "Gluten Sensitive" not gluten free. Second, it took 3 people before we got anyone with a clue about celiac. Lastly, when we did finally get someone we found out that they use a shared food prep area and oven and take little to no precaution to prevent cross contamination except that they store 3-4 ingredients in a "Gluten Sensitive" area in the cooler. We chose to leave without placing an order.
By far the best gf pizza I’ve ever had. Dough is freshly made at the restaurant. Waiter was very knowledgeable, and kitchen is completely separate. It was so easy! Tested it with my Nima (gluten tester) which said it was gf. Service was fast and great too!
Sadly my experience wasn’t as good as others. My waitress was happy to ask questions of the kitchen but that was the extent of knowledge. I was told the gf pizza crust was “gluten sensitive” (inaccurate. People are gs, food is not). The pizza had no gluten but it was cooked in the same oven. No dedicated space or pan for GF pizza were mentioned. I ended up getting a burger on an Udi’s bun as it seemed the safest bet. A somewhat stressful dining experience after reading previous reviews and having different expectations.
I have to agree with the other reviewers that the gluten free pizza is awesome. The crust is the best I have ever had as it resembles regular glutinized crust. It was brought to the table by the manager to ensure it didn't get cross contaminated. This restaurant was a really great find!
Had a great side salad and waitress went to check with the cook to be sure the dressing was GF before telling me it was GF. Ordered grilled shrimp and sirloin. Great meal and will definitely come back when in the Dells.
I didn’t eat in and so i have no experience with the wait staff however we ( my celiac mother and i) had different experiences. She had the salad and complained that it was the worst salad she has ever tasted however my pizza (she and i agreed) was so delicious. As someone who is gluten free, having a fluffy crust is rare so this was a treat for me.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants! Pizza is always delicious and GF; I normally get the veggie or cheese so can’t say for the pepperoni but both have never caused me to have a reaction. Also the carry out price is such a good deal if I just wanna pick it up. Highly recommend to anyone GF!!
They mention on the website that they used shared equipment, so may not be appropriate for those with Celiac, however it’s just a preference for us. That being said, this was the best GF pizza we’ve ever had. Thick, chewy, brown crust was what made it special. Excellent!
At first I felt like regular GF Pizza Ok. So I tried it and I was like ok. But then I tried the crust and it was delicious. So if you’re GF and in Wisconsin Dells and want pizza come there! (Reviewer is age 8)
Amazing!!! I haven’t had gluten free pizza this good in awhile! I told the waitress I have celiac right away and she assured me I could eat. Gluten free pizzas are prepared and cooked in their own pan with separate ingredients from the regular pizzas. My Nima also came back with GF. Not outrageously priced and generous portions. They ever carry Redbridge gluten free beer!
6/7/2019: third time here, have never gotten sick from the food. And the food is delicious! Atmosphere was fun, industrial look with the brick walls and exposed ceiling. Our waitress was friendly and when I asked about the gf pizza crust she said the pizza has received good reviews. She also said she enjoyed eating it so I decided to try it. I will say this is the best gf pizza I’ve ever had. So many are flat on taste with some even tasting bitter. The crust was like a hand tossed rather than think crust. It had a light buttery taste. I handed a piece to my son and he said it tasted a lot like his except lighter.
They can make you a pizza, but it’s in a shared oven. I opted for no pizza because I’m very sensitive, but when my plate came it had bread on it. They fixed it, but not what I was hoping for. Also not worth what I paid for it.
I ordered the gluten free veggie pizza and added the balsamic glaze, arugula, and fresh Parmesan. My goodness. Might be the best pizza I’ve ever had since needing to go GF. I’ll update if I get any cross contamination, but they were very conscious of my need and took really good care of me.
The website is clear about “celiacs beware—this is best effort at best”). I appreciate that they are clear on that but weighing the risk vs. a burger from a place I would never order a burger from pre-celiac... not worth it to me.
