Super lekker en goed gegeten. De kok heeft meegedacht voor mijn dochter. Ze heeft heerlijk glutenvrij gegeten.

I wasn’t holding out much hope for having my GF allergy catered for in Texel but actually found that there’s more understanding of it than in Amsterdam where I live!
Van der Valk is a hotel and restaurant chain that is a long-time Dutch institution with properties across the country. It has a reputation for being consistently reliable.
Although I knew they’d be able to accommodate dietaries, I thought it would be basic whoever the waiter said choose whatever I wanted from the menu and he’ll speak to the chef and try to adapt.
Clearly deep fried and saucy options were limited, but they adapted the fish of the day (haddock) dish and assured me that accompanying salad, fries etc were all GF. Pretty high quality GF was also provided.
Whilst - as ever - if I were full-on celiac then I’d asking more questions but they really did seem to understand GF and bend over backwards to provide the best possible dining experience with the ingredients they had. Which I think also means - unusually for a chain - that most dishes are cooked from scratch.
