We had a great experience here at the end of March. Emailed management ahead of time to ask about menu/procedures and they sent an extensive list of options and modifications and had a note on our reservation when we arrived with a yellow allergy tag. Seems like folks have had hit and miss experiences here, but our waiter was incredibly knowledgable and my partner did not get sick!

While they have separate gluten free menu, servers are not knowledgeable about what does and does not contain gluten. My boyfriend and I recently visited (both Celiacs) and were given the soy free menu because we are both gluten and soy free. The server walked me through what was and was not gluten free on the soy free menu but failed to mention a dish with farro and a dish with crackers. Luckily we knew to avoid those dishes, but we still ended up being served gluten.
Neither of us knew what the sauce of one dish was, but we had been told it was gluten free. We asked the server what it was because we loved the taste, and she told us it was black vinegar. When we later looked up black vinegar we found black vinegar (specifically the brand we were served) is made from fermented rice, wheat, barley, and sorghum. Very disappointed in what we thought was an understanding and safe restaurant.

It breaks my heart to say that Vedge is not a good place for those with celiac disease. I've visited the restaurant twice in the last year, and despite ordering items from their (supposedly) gluten-free menu, I've been glutened both times. I'm so disappointed, as the food is great and staff initially seem knowledgeable – but they clearly don't understand what gluten-free means.

Outstanding food. Almost the entire menu could be modified. Definitely worth the price tag.

Amazing vegetarian food, with a separate gluten free menu. Great service and careful staff, just be ware of pricing as the plates are small

Wow! Ran in here for takeout on a whim and I am not disappointed. Amazing food - you can tell they love what they do. I had the stuffed avo and the grilled maitake mushroom. They confirmed my order choices were gluten free when I asked and were not equivocal about it so I felt good ordering. I am so glad I found this place! I was blown away by the food - it was so creative and really delicious. Too bad I'm only here one night or I would be back for sure!

Delicious, beautiful food. It's a fabulous vegetarian restaurant. I did have a celiacs reaction after eating there which is unusual so I think at some point they did make a mistake.
Outstanding menu and server knowledge! Portion size is a bit small, but everything we tried was delicious!

If I could give Vedge 10 stars, I would. The food is phenomenal, one of the best restaurants on the east coast, IMO. Food is beautifully prepared. Definitely pricey but worth it. The menu is vegan but none of the omnivores I've taken there have had any complaints. And the owners understand celiac/GF and make sure the severs are knowledgable, too.
