I was very disappointed with the place. I ate here regularly for a few days, and every day I explained to my husband on the spot about my celiac disease and that I needed gluten-free food. I ordered the brownie and asked if it contained gluten and they told me it didn't. I ate it and then it felt weird so I asked her again if it was gluten-free and then she laughed with her employees and said it did. Disappointing and annoying.
Had the loaded Mexican bowl and swapped out seitan for grilled tofu. The waitress was a little confused as to why I couldn’t eat the seitan even though I explained I was GF, but I explained it’s literal gluten (lol) and they happily swapped it.
She doubled checked everything with the kitchen - was super kind, food was delish and I had no reactions.
Edited recommondation:
I ended up eating here three Times (everytime Falafel Salad/Bowl. So I for myself trusted it enough. In Koh Tao I found it quite difficult to eat something and often had stomachache. But I think vegetabowl was one of the safest spots for me.
Old Version
I told them that I have a strong gluten allergy. And they said if it is very strong they can't guarantee that I am save because they prepare the food before.
But I could drink a smoothie which would be safe.
I am happy about their honest answer but also unsure if it is any better anywhere and at another place they wouldn't just be so honest.
After all and a few talks with the waiter I tried the Falafel salad and then i will edit this recommandation when i know If i got symptoms or not
The gluten free items on the menu are marked with ‘GF’. They have some amazing salad bowls and they offer gluten free pasta.
