Review of ViewHouse Centennial

Love this place, but they are NOT knowledgeable about GF. :( I’ve been here many times and most times the servers don’t really know what they’re talking about unfortunately. I only order things that are automatically GF and don’t attempt to do any substitutions. However, I had never gotten sick so I wanted to try one of the burgers w the GF bun. Tonight I went and told the waitress I had an “allergy” which is easier to say than Celiac because people usually understand it better. Anyways, got the nachos as usual which are always good and safe, then ordered the burger and asked what sides were safe. She said the fries. I was surprised because I heard they used a shared fryer, and she said her logic was that they are GF because other people who get GF buns get them, but she didn’t know anything about how they were prepared. I explained that this doesn’t make them GF and some people are less sensitive than others. So I opted for the side salad. Came out w fries and the runner had an attitude when I said it was supposed to be a salad. Brought it back and I immediately noticed the bun was weird. Didn’t look like UDI’s (which is what they advertise). Was soft and tasted sweet. Maybe they had a temporary GF replacement, so I asked my server when she came back, “Is this the GF bun?” She giggles and goes “It should be!” Like??? What?? Anyways, I determined it was the brioche and not the GF. Stopped eating immediately but I am now extremely sick. Further confirmed this when the GF bun wasn’t listed on the receipt. It’s so easy to educate staff on GF (especially if they advertise it) and this place just doesn’t. So don’t order anything that requires a substitution to make GF. Stick w the nachos, salads, etc but keep in mind that there aren’t really any GF procedures. 2 stars because I love the drinks, nachos, and atmosphere.
