VGK is in a food court at 201 St Charles, just outside the French Quarter. We are here visiting. I have very sensitive CD. VGK has bowls, wraps and salads. As soon as I said I have CD, the server changed gloves and equipment without saying a word, it was clearly automatic. (He seemed surprised that I was surprised.) That by itself was enough to comfort me, but then, as I asked about ingredients, he explained in detail how he makes the different dressings and components. I asked about the apple cider vinegar, which often has a kind of barley malt or somesuch in it and he said he only uses Braggs— more reassurance. VGK is only open until 2 PM but if you’re in the area for breakfast or lunch, and you are trying to find a quick, safe salad, soup or sandwich, this is a good bet and I was very happy with my kale salad, and all the trimmings! My husband has also eaten here, though he is quite the omnivore, and he has been very happy with his food also. I plan to come here again this visit and anytime I’m in New Orleans.
