Viva Las Arepas

First time trying Venezuelan food. The workers in the restaurant are very knowledgeable about gluten. Arepas are naturally gluten free. Not everything on the menu is gluten free, however, so you will need to talk to ask the server what you can and can’t have. The restaurant is quick service counter style. It’s clean and is visually interesting. The only thing is, I specified my gluten allergy and they put an empanada(my boyfriend ordered) on the same plate as my order. Other than that, this was great experience, the food is delicious and we would definitely go back.

LOVE it here!! I get the #2 it’s wood fire chicken and I add avocado, it’s gluten free and low iodine diet safe. The food is always delicious and the service is always great! In my top 3 favorite places to grab a bite to eat when I’m out, having Grave’s disease that can be tricky, they are usually open until 10pm too so that’s also nice. Definitely worth a try!

Amazing food! With the exception of a few pastries (bagged) everything is GF. Tasty and big portions. Worth the drive as this place will not disappoint

The food was so good and the person at the counter was very helpful and patient. They even offered to package one item specifically to be stored and eaten for tomorrow’s lunch. All the arepas are gf and they emphasized that they had a dedicated fryer. I didn’t get ill and the food is delicious! There’s plenty of parking and outdoor seating as well.

Amazing Venezuelan Arepas

The waiters are excellent behind the counter and will take heed in your explanation of 0 cross contamination and separate food preparation. I was so impressed. There are about 5 different arepas you can order as GF

Delicious! Recommend the carne asada or the pollo asada arepas. Sauces were tasty too! Minimal wait, super clean and great staff. Highly recommend if you are in Vegas 🙌🏻 🫓

I ate here 8/3 and had no issues with anything we ordered! I was very nervous after the two recent 1 star reviews that got sick- however I did not have any issues. I too have eaten here many times. The arepas are all gluten free! The sauces they bring out are just amazing, I could take a bath in them! 🥰

I have eaten here numerous times over the years with no issues at all. Until today. Not sure what he changed as I only visit once a year or so, but I am sick today when I never have been before. Really disappointed as I have loved eating here.

Unfortunately, I Nima tested 4 items and 3 of them came back with solid gluten lines. For anyone who doesn’t know, the Nima sensor uses a capsule where you sample a pea sized amount of your dish and it will tell you if that sample has gluten in it. It has been a lifesaver for me.

The only thing that came back gluten-free was the cachapa. We got a Reina Pepiada arepa, a Pabellon arepa, a beans and cheese arepa, all of which had gluten. The Cachapa came back gluten free but I didn’t feel comfortable eating it given all the other dishes came back with gluten.

I have had great luck with arepa places that are 100% gluten-free and love arepas, so this was a bummer, but the people working there were very nice, for what it’s worth! They just can’t provide safe arepas.

the whole menu can be requested in a gluten-free version the staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about cross contamination. I am symptomatic and had no reaction! Highly recommended

Literally so good. They are super chill and have a gluten free menu. I ate here like 3 times this week and never got sick. Very celiac safe (and diary free safe!) my friend with and egg allergy also did not get sick!

We were visiting Las Vegas and thought arepas sounded really good. We got the roasted pork butt arepa and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! They were not busy, the food was ready in less than 10 minutes and I didn’t have any symptoms after eating arepas! I wish this restaurant was closer to where I live.

This place is incredible!! Amazing service, amazing food, wonderful people!! Sooo yummy and the staff is sooo nice!! Can’t say enough good things!! This is my new go-to when I stop in Vegas. Delicious arepas. I had a pabellon and reina pepiada and didn’t have any reaction. The woman who took our order well well-versed in cross contamination and pointed out that that had a smaller separate fryer for the plantains so they were celiac safe. Great if you’re looking for something quick and reasonably priced!

My girlfriend is visiting the city and I researched this restaurant as a place that was good and safe for her. The employee at the counter, Cindy was very polite and knowledgeable on cross-contamination and pointed out the gluten free items on the menu. We had fried plantain with our order and she even showed us that they used a different fryer for the plantains to ease our minds about cross-contamination. We both enjoyed our visit and there were no complications afterwards. I feel like this one could be a go-to restaurant when she visits. If you are near the Strat, it's convenient because it's a few minutes away.

The food was delicious. I had the wood fired beef Arepas, minus tomato, add cheese. The person at the window was knowledgeable about allergies. The menu hanging above the register shows all Arepas to be gluten free. Delicious!

So this one is a bit confusing... I'll elaborate. I didn't see anything on the menu glutenous. I didn't see any ingredients in the kitchen glutenous. Everything is corn flour and gluten free. I got a beef arepa. I still by habit use the Nima. The test came back positive. Damn. The line was faint showing possible cross contact. So I ran a second test this time diluting the capsule because sometimes a light colored food or certain densities perform different. New test, same thing, I honestly couldn't believe it. So I decided to risk it and thought maybe it was flase positives. But I can tell you "I" don't feel well today. I should have listened to the test I think... I almost always do, but for some reason because I didn't "see" any gluten risk in the kitchen I risked it. Also, I couldn't ask many questions because there was a language barrier for sure. I took the risk. Wasn't the right move for me, too sensitive.

Great little spot for arepas in the arts district! I always look for arepa places when I travel to different cities because I know they’ll be safe. Everything is clearly labeled gluten free on the menu and they changed their gloves for me to avoid possible cross contamination.

Delicious arepas! I’m very sensitive to CC and did not get sick at all. Had these two days in a row. When asked what was gluten free, they answered “only arepas.”

I recommend the Wood Fire Shredded Chicken, Roasted Pork, and Reina pepiada. Delicious!.

Someone on here said empanadas are gluten free.. but can’t be. Empanadas are made with flour. I’d be wary of the fried plantains too, they might use the same fryer as the empanadas.

A-mazing arepas! A short cab ride off the main strip, this place is worth it for super tasty arepas. I had the shredded beef, my husband the wood fire beef, and then he ordered another - the wood fire chicken. All super, the shredded beef the best, in my opinion. The arepa shell was the best I've had - no falling apart and just perfectly stuffed. We also had the plantains. They were super sweet, huge portion and cooked perfectly. Also, like $7-8 for an arepa - can't beat that for great gluten free. I asked about the empanadas and they are not GF.

This place was so yummy!! It is family owned and they were really nice. They have a portion of the menu that it labeled gluten free (and have vegan options). I got the black bean and cheese arepa and it was so good I ordered another! My husband ordered the vegetarian arepa. I have not gotten sick since eating here.

Celiac safe! Absolutely delicious and no issues after eating here twice on my trip. Also some of the most cost-friendly food in Vegas. The cashier told us all the arepas were gluten free and are cooked separately from any gluten.
