Viva Tacoma

Delicious food, courteous wait-staff, healthy options. Everything we had was tasty - buffalo cauliflower wings, garlic bread, raw enchiladas, and green curry. If we lived in Tacoma we would be regulars - we’ll have to come back and visit! The owner seems very interested in providing safe, healthy options for customers. Great experience and I love knowing the food is all safe for celiacs. We’re ordering some dessert to-go, too - can’t wait to enjoy it when we are less full!

Very good vegan and fully gluten-free. Delicious full menu and lots of deserts.

Enjoyed Taco Tuesday and wrapped up with a raspberry brownie sandwich for dessert.

Service team was very attentive and helpful with recommendations.

For a family with a number of food allergies ranging from celiac disease, to allergies and sensitivities to nuts and dairy, finding a place like this was absolutely a treat. The service was amazing and the food was spectacular, so much so that my kids said "it was super super duper good!" We have only ever found one other restaurant like this and it was in Southern California and they did not have the dessert menu like this place. We are incredibly thrilled to know that a place like this is within an hour of where we live. Trust me when I say we will be back, many times. Thank you for making such a great restaurant with healthy ingredients!

Normally this place is amazing! However, the staff were not educated on allergies this time around and could not confirm what ingredients are for other food allergies.

The foods here is good though as long as you are GF and Vegan :)

I’m all for supporting dedicated gf and vegan places, but this one’s a bit tricky. Service was very slow, menu wasn’t updated, prices seemed a bit steep, and my sandwich was soggy and fell apart. Positives: flavor was good and the sweet potato fries were GREAT! Maybe they have some outstanding dishes that I did not encounter.

Food was just okay. Definitely overpriced. My family tried the Grickle, Black Bean Burger, Pineapple Fried Rice and Lemon Poppyseed Cheesecake, not great. The BBQ Cauliflower “wings” were decent. The only thing I really liked was the breakfast Vegetable Hash. No gluten issues, but felt like it was a big waste of money and wouldn’t go back again.

We confirmed that it was all gluten-free and vegan, but felt awful/bloated after eating there. The "meatballs" were dry and chalky, the dressings tasted weird, and we will probably not go back.

Love the concept of this restaurant, me and my dad have celiac and were excited to eat here. the service was ok, but took over an hour to get the food. my friend who is very allergic to nuts informed the waitress of her allergy. she ordered the chai tea, had two sips and her throat and lips became itchy. she had to run to the safeway near by to get benadryl. the waitress later apologize saying that there was cashew milk in it. the food on the other hand didn’t live up to the price, the bread came out burnt and the brussel sprouts weee overly saturated with oil. even though they said it’s all ‘gluten free’ me and my dad both had stomach aches/allergic reactions after we got done dining here. i don’t think this restaurant is ‘certified gluten free’ and it’s not worth the time or money.

Amazing food, wonderful staff! The Nacho Supreme will knock your socks off. The pizza crust is delicious and the carrot cake is mouth watering. Everything had rich, fresh flavor.

Dedicated gluten free facility

Mac and cheese sauce was bad, noodles mushed together. The salad and Cesar dressing was average. The bbq jackfruit sandwhich was the best thing I tried.

Great to have a completely dedicated gluten free facility as an option for celiac, but wish they had maybe a regular pizza, or a better Max and cheese option. Harlow in Portland is to die for - they should go plankton style and steal the recipe ;)

I love Viva. I am not a vegan, but it is one of the few gluten free places in Tacoma. The owner won't even allow employees to bring in their lunch if it contains gluten. There is no risk of cross contamination at all. I love the lemon doodle cookies, the Mexican scramble (breakfast) and the grickle pizza.

Was really disappointed with the food - very bland and tasteless. The potato and leek soup was not even edible. The nacho were better but still nothing spectacular. The staff were really friendly.

Meat eaters too will love this incredible restaurant. Celiac safe dedicated GF, accommodates other allergies too. Nachos are a meal by itself. Thai Peanut Stir Fry is phenomenal, SW Black Bean Burger incredible. Generous portions, fresh, delicious. Friendly staff. Save room for Snicker Doodle and Choc Chip Cookies! Will be back in a heartbeat.

UPDATE 09.2019: portions were much less than our first 2 visits 06.2019. Hope it's a one-off and not the norm.

popped in here to pick up a few desserts and was so impressed with the selection!! The cupcake and chocolate chip cookie I got were AMAZING. Seriously some of the best GF desserts I've ever had. I look forward to coming back for lunch!

Yes, it is so fun to be able to order anything off the menu. But we were really disappointed with the food. Nothing tasted good. Had a jackfruit sandwich which was mediocre and the Italian pizza which was downright gross. Also, really bad service. Sad because I was sooo excited to try it!

The Grinkle GF pizza is the best pizza I’ve had in 9 years! My two celiac daughters agreed. The whole Resteraunt is GF and vegan. My non celiac son loved the crab dip pizza and my husband loved the Father’s Day BQ ribs special. The both are very picky.

Been too long for this type of food. I came from out of town are there. Got a tummy ache but the food is just rich. It was delicious. I got a couple of things to go. Will eaten for lunch today.

This place was delightful. Between my non-gf husband and me, we ate the tamari ginger cauliflower wings, jackfruit brisket pizza, broccoli mac and “cheese”, beer, kombucha, carrot cake and chocolate mousse torte. Everything they make is vegan and gf. Even non vegans like us had a super meal and experience.

Great food (cauliflower wings with ginger tamari, peanut sauce stir fry, german chocolate cake) with so many options it was hard to choose. Highly recommend especially for celiacs. A real treat and great find.

Entire facility is GF, so eating there is a breeze. All food is good and some is really great! Cauliflower wings, soup, and special subs were favorites! Celiac safe!

I have eaten at Viva Tacoma twice and would eat there again anytime I happen to be in the city. As a celiac who also chooses to be a vegetarian, I appreciate the amount of options. Although the wait time can be a bit long, the food is well worth the wait. I personally recommend any dish that has the delicious "walnut meat" and the cheesecakes for dessert. The staff is also really friendly and accommodating. I currently have to follow a GERD-friendly diet on top of my other dietary restrictions, which means I would not have been able to have any of the non-dessert meals. However, the waitress allowed me to completely customize a pizza to my needs, which I am extremely grateful for. I recommend!

No more tacos cuz they can’t get the blue Mesa. Hot cocoa with coconut milk is rich but has a clean finish. Nachos were absolutely amazing!!! The wings had an almost teriyaki like sauce on them with really good dipping sauce. Pumpkin muffins for desert was a great finish. Excited to come back for more... real soon!

Two friends and I went here a few days ago and shared two dishes among the three of us: the portobello mushroom tacos and a spicy bean burger (I'm sure I don't have the correct names). Everything was delicious! I particularly liked the blue corn masa tortillas used for the tacos. Excellent! It's wonderful to be able to eat somewhere you feel safe to eat (gluten-free).

Amazing food with an amazing staff! Everything we tried was delicious! The hot chocolate was to die for- super chocolatey! I am very sensitive celiac and did not have any trouble eating here. The owner came up and talked with us- there is no cross contamination because every single item is gluten free. Definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it!

Best place to eat! They have dessert (thank the Lord) and all the food I tried was delicious. 10/10 will be coming back again

Went for breakfast and lunch and fell in love! Their french toast is amazing!! I want to go back and try more things! I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be able to eat everything on the menu. So excited to try dessert next time!!

Fabulous and excellent tasty food. They had options for me, even with multiple allergies. Went there my first time the other night with husband & friend and everyone enjoyed their meal! We each ate something different. I had Thai peanut meal, my husband had raw enchiladas and it was the first time in a long time we've been able to share a meal at a nice restaurant.
