We came for a quick lunch. Food items are in glass jars inside coolers and clearly marked with gluten. Once I picked my first and main courses, the very friendly counter server heated them up. I chose pumpkin soup, autumn risotto with pumpkin and bacon, and crene caramel dessert. I also tried a gluten-free beer, at least until I looked closer at the label and realized that it was gluten reduced, which I can't tolerate. The risotto was a little bland, but the soup and dessert were delicious.
Wonderful home made food. Simple and delicious. Abit like a traiteur atmosphere, but you can sit and serve yourself. I feel safe, because the owner and his wife eat gluten-free. It is high quality for low price. Menu fur 15€.I had oriental soup, Aubergine alla Parmigiano and Tiramisu a la ananas.
Very happy to have found this place in the app. In Avignon it is very hard to find save gf restaurants. It is not dedicated gf, but clearly labeled and save from cross contamination. The staff was very nice and explained the concept and the safety. The food was quite good. Only the size of the tables (very small) could be better. We enjoyed the gf cake!
Take out style. You can sit at the restaurant and they heat up your reusable jars of food. Unique and clever concept almost plastic free. Menu is marked with gluten free items but you have to read it carefully. The person who wrote the earlier comment about getting sick from the gnocchi must have misread the menu. It has gluten. I had the lasagna bolognese and the tiramisu. Both tasty. The price is right if you're on a budget. Recommend it, especially if you're in a hurry.
Self service cafe, many gluten free options, great for a quick meal
Many gluten free options that are clearly labeled. Foods (soups, salads, pasta entrees and deserts) are available in sealed glass jars in a fridge. Once you make your selections these can be heated individually in a warmer below the cash register. This is not a dedicated kitchen, and all foods contain a warning that they might contain traces of wheat.
The unique warming method combined with the clear labeling made me reasonable confident in the safety of the food.
I went here twice during my time in Avignon, I got the veggie lasagna, risotto with sausage and the squash bisque with tiramisu and a coffee with milk. Very tasty and high quality fresh food, no reaction. Highly recommended.
Very tasteful food, and 90% is gluten free. A good surprise
Fantastic concept. Very high quality Italian fast food. Choose starter/mains from the cabinets - all dishes in returnable reusable glass jars. Pasta is gluten free!! Very clearly marked menu. Wines and gluten free beers available. Main dish (I had aubergine parmigiana - great flavours- €7.90. Highly recommended
I visited the new location in the Agroparc area of Avignon. This restaurant used to be dedicated gluten free but they now serve some gluten pasta dishes. The food comes pre-prepared in jars with all ingredients listed on the lid. They’re labeled as either “with gluten” or “gluten free” and the gluten free dishes warn that they may contain traces. There are no separate colors to indicate if a dish contains gluten, only the black & white labels which looks almost identical to each other aside from a line and a word. My dining companion bought a gluten dish by mistake (luckily noticed before eating), not realizing that the restaurant is not entirely gluten free anymore.
So, because of the shared facility they’re no longer celiac safe. The person working there couldn’t elaborate on what, if any, cross-contact precautions they take, only that they couldn’t guarantee no traces. It’s good that they’re clear about possible traces and they list all ingredients but it’s disappointing that one of just 2 or 3 dedicated restaurants in the Vaucluse is no longer safe.
Nearly everything is gluten free in Vivotto Caffe. When you enter the place, you grab a tray and choose items in glass containers from refrigerated shelves. When you bring your selections to the counter to pay for them, the attendant will quickly heat your pasta and rice entrees. Happy day, they have gluten-free beer!! And yummy-looking desserts. I had delicious lasagna bolognese and a hearty green salad. This is probably where I will eat all of my dinners while in Avignon.
Excellent gluten-free and wheat-free lasagna and pasta. Food is stored in glass jars and heated up on premise, or you can get it to go and warm it yourself later.
Everything is Glutenfree and it is pre-packaged in glass jars in a refrigerator and you bring what you want to the counter and he heats up the jar.
The quality is good. A lot of the food is vegan, which isn’t my favorite. The recipes aren’t perfected to my taste but it’s good and safe.
It’s quick and easy, yet you can eat outside in a cute cafe environment. It’s hard to eat quickly in Europe.
