Waffleland Café

I saw the positive reviews on here and was excited to try this place out for a late night snack. Unfortunately, I got glutened. Despite the precautions taken by staff, there is a high cross-contamination risk as they don't have a dedicated gluten-free waffle iron. The staff mentioned that they take extra precautions as they've had Celiacs before but I shouldn't have expected much.

I had the Slammin' Salmon and The Holy Trinity, both subbed with the gluten free waffle for an extra 2 dollaroos each. While delicious, I developed symptoms shortly after eating. Don't bother if you're Celiac unless they've changed their practices. :(

Celiac here. This place was wonderful, they were so considerate about the GF and were very careful. Also had lots of vegan options. The cocktails were also fantastic. Would go here again the next time I’m in Vancouver.

The most adorable little cafe with the sweetest barista and waiter. They took extra steps to make sure my waffles would be gluten free (which was so appreciated and reassuring for someone like me who has celiac disease), the waiter even brought my plate with paper bags around his hand because he was out of glove. Felt very safe eating gluten free there, the food was delicious, the decor was so pretty and the latte art was on point! 10/10 would recommend
